Large Portions of Good Food

Butera's has several outposts on both the North and South Shores of Long Island. We usually frequent the one in Smithtown but have also visited the Woodbury location. The plates are busting with good food prepared in a family tradition. Speaking of families, this restaurant is family friendly... read more

Went on a Saturday night with wife based on reviews we read, was very disappointed. Ordered the veal Marsala and it was not tasty at all. The highlight of the meal was the bread and atmosphere. I am really confused what everyone is raving about. Wife's meal was no different bland and extremely average. If your looking for good bread... More

Butera's has several outposts on both the North and South Shores of Long Island. We usually frequent the one in Smithtown but have also visited the Woodbury location. The plates are busting with good food prepared in a family tradition. Speaking of families, this restaurant is family friendly and can handle large parties. However, I would recommend a reservation if... More

We gave this restaurant another try but were not won over. The restaurant is extremely noisy making it almost impossible to have a table conversation. The Italian food is average. Salads are too complicated and seasoned with competing flavors and dressing, e.g., scallop salad. The service was average.

Very good food and lovely atmosphere. Service was great. We ordered the family size dinner for the two of us of their Chicken meatballs, broccoli rabe, white beans and pasta in a olive oil white wine sauce. Absolutely delicious and more that enough for two. We actually took left overs home to enjoy the next day. The only down side... More

We have eaten at this restaurant before so when thinking of places to have my husband's surprise birthday celebration I picked Butera's and couldn't have asked for a better place. Aside from the wonderful wait staff (every one of them were accommodating to a fault), the entry selections to choose from, the terrific food that everyone at the party commented... More

Place was very noisy, service awful, food only soso. I have unfortunately been there several times because I was with friends who wanted to go there, and each time had similar experiences. Portions are huge, but lack fine quality.

The food is very tasty including the gluten free choices. My husband ordered a catered lunch for his office staff for the holidays band everything was delicious. We also ate there as a family in May and the food was wonderful as well.

Buteras has 4 restaurants on long Island. Smithtown is my favorite. The ambiance is old world updated Italy. It's the only place I'll order mussels from.

Service and food was good. There was a mix up with my entree but it was quickly corrected. Menu had prices for one person and family style. Prices were reasonable. Beer draught was $6.50 for 19 oz. Stella , Peroni and something else. Sorry. Easy to find discount coupons for this place.

I love the chicken meatballs, had them a few times, different sauces. I did not love they had ONE waiter on our table of 15. They didn't even help the kid bring over the drinks. (Their loss, they could have racked up a big liquor bill too). The food was good. I love the spicy/thai Calamari appetizer.
