Excellent Restaurant

They have two fireplaces for atmosphere and a full bar. The food was excellent. They even had an entertainer on Sunday afternoon.

We were recently in lovely Skaneateles for a wedding and enjoyed a post-wedding brunch at the beautiful Sherwood Inn, where I had not been for many years but remembered fondly. The Inn was prettier than ever and we enjoyed our brunch. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return.

My husband and I visit the Sherwood Inn two or three times a year, and we just now returned from a great couple of days there. We look forward to our time and meals in The Pub because we know the food will be excellent and the service top notch. On this particular evening we started with the Sherwood Salad,... More

3 of us decided to have dinner out on a cold NY night. The Sherwood is always open and fun to go to. We were seated at a window table and our server was soon there with water and bread. There were 3 specials for the night which she quickly described. I started with the evening special cream of mushroom... More

The Sherwood has never disappointed, we eat here 3 or 4 times a year. The menu is the same for both the Tavern or the more "formal" diningroom. We tried the Tavern this past week for the first time. The food was excellent but this was the first time the service was lacking. No apology for miss placing our food... More

Beat the crowd by being there before 1130 am opening. Enjoyed tuscan bean soup, then open face Sherwood Reuben. Wife had Chili followed by spinach salad. Took home 1/2 of each entree. All excellent, service fantastic.

We ate dinner at the Sherwood on a dark and rainy December evening. Although I'd made reservations weeks in advance, we still ended up being seated on the porch instead of the main dining room, which was a disappointment. It might be nice in the summer when the sun doesn't go down so early, but when we were there the... More

Four of us had lunch at the Sherwood Inn on the Tavern Side rather than the Porch. We had a great table, and, as it was a December weekend, we were able to watch the townspeople in their period costumes strolling the sidewalks. Three of us ordered soup - two orders were delivered without spoons to eat it. I ordered... More

Since this is close to home it is a regular summer stop for us. There is a view of the lake, people watching and good food. Who needs more. The food is always good the wait service is attentive and the several times there have always been enjoyable.

Stopped for the Dickens Festival at the Sherwood Inn and had an enjoyable lunch. I had the roasted turkey sandwich which came with sweet potato fries... Very good ! Kids had chicken strips and fries and wife had hot turkey sandwich with gravy. Enjoyable !
