Went here with friends while visiting LI vineyards. Our Chateaubriand was ice cold and served with ice cold sauce. No potatoes and no vegetables. Came with fries. When the manager came to the table, he informed us that they serve it this way. They are eclectic. In my 35 years of owning a restaurant, being the executive chef, French trained,... More

If it would of been appropriate, we might all have licked our plates clean! The pepper corn sauce on the perfectly cooked steak and the bolonase. I mean seriously, how can food be that good? And the bread - YUM! The only reason I gave 4 stars for service was because they quit paying attention to our lack of water... More

Yes. The food is good but do you really need to pay $42.00 for a piece of fish no bigger than a Brillo pad? Marginal white wine for $14.00 a glass is a true lession in sipping. Is that really a $50.00 steak on the menu? Again the food is good but how they charge what they do is a... More

Recently went to vine street, which I have wanted to visit for a while. Good was good but not with the $$$ sings for sure. There are many other local places out East that offer great menu items with less pretentious atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice though.

Pros: hostess , waitress , warm hot bread, location ,wine Cons: mussels not good , do not order, food average and expensive. Party of two with one glass of wine plus as haired salad and two entrees cost before tip $116. Not worth the expense. There are better values and tastier meals

This place is gorgeous and the service was great. I get a little underwhelmed by the food on shelter island with the high prices however this place was good. We shared a delicious cote de rhone from a decent wine list. Scallop ceviche we found fresh but under seasoned, I expected more lime zesty. Hanger steak was delicious and cooked... More

We went on a Tuesday (which seems to be the night that may restaurants are CLOSED on a Tuesday) and it was packed. The ambiance is romantic and cozy. That night was not my husband luck ... our waiter forgot his wine and we couldn't get a hold of a server since it was really busy but we finally did... More

It isn't cheap, but it sure is delicious. Vine Street is one of the great places to eat on Long Island's east end, and is justly praised by locals and visitors alike. Great food.

Food here is absolutely amazing. We started with some local oysters, then crispy squash blossoms stuffed with a really tasty local goat cheese! We shared a miso glazed salmon and a strip steak - both cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and very professional. Our server made great recommendations for our meal, and then the sommelier came by and... More
