18 Bay is a Chef owned and operated restaurant. We serve a four course Italian inspired Chefs menu that is a direct reflection of the local markets. Dinner begins with four different antipasti, followed by a handmade pasta, a choice of entree and dessert. The menu changes every week. We make handcrafted cocktails using organic syrups, serve local wine including two on tap, as well as international wines from small producers. We offer a vegetarian menu and accommodate for any allergies or aversions. We look forward to sharing with you our interpretation of the best of our terroir.

Perfection

Right up there as one of the best meals we have ever had! Romantic low key place with excellent service. Every morsel of the four course meal was terrific. Very accommodating to food allergies etc. Four amazing starters followed by a fab home-made pasta course. I have eaten a lot of fresh swordfish... read more

Love their concept, prefixed menu. Now I prefer vegetarian, and they have the same menu with vegetarian modifications . How simple and brilliant it is! Only locally grown produce used ,extraordinary and tasty. Great place to being a date as well.

My husband and I have a young daughter so when we go out on our "date nights" we really want it to be extra special. Well 18 Bay did not disappoint. The ambiance is incredible, the servers are very knowledgeable, and the food is absolutely phenomenal. The four course antipasti was delicious. It was followed by a delicate homemade pasta... More

We had a meal here with old friends and enjoyed our evening enormously. The food was all very tasty and visually beautiful. We started with a lovely little amuse buche that was like a miniature Spanish omelette. The antipasti had four components but they were able to vary some ingredients to allow for food intolerances and dislikes with no fuss... More

As I am writing this, I am still torn about my trip to 18 Bay. I like foodie-esque, creative menus but when that's coupled with lackluster service, it can significantly offset the experience. I must have had the same disinterested waitperson that other reviewers mention. It was a Saturday evening in May and the place was only half full so... More

We had a wonderful meal at 18 Bay. The food was simply outstanding, beginning with the four-serving antipasti course of baby scallops and grapefruit, skate crudo, braised fennel with dates, and some delicious greens with small purple potatoes. My risotto and fish to follow were sublime. I am gluten-free and they were very accommodating. Everything was simply yet artfully prepared,... More

Shlter Island is very desolate by late fall. But 18 bay stays open and serves a fixed fours course meal high quality. They also serve first class wine by the glass.

A perfect evening with farm to table ingredients and a menu that changes weekly. This restaurant is owner operated so we were very well looked after - food, service, and ambiance couldn't have been better!

The tasting menu was just a dream. We totally enjoyed the evening. The ambience was great, and the wait staff was professional. I had a great drink with Sarsaparilla syrup and Bourbon wow it was good!

18 bay was recommended by several New York City and North Fork friends recently; so, I decided to take some friends who were visiting us in Orient, NY. We arrived early and had drinks at the bar, the old fashion was on of the best and the bartender/server was lovely. The menu is a seasonal/local prefixed which we were aware... More
