Description: 18 Bay is a Chef owned and operated restaurant. We serve a four course Italian inspired Chefs menu that is a direct reflection of the local markets. Dinner begins with four different antipasti, followed by a handmade pasta, a choice of entree and dessert. The menu changes every week. We make handcrafted cocktails using organic syrups, serve local wine including two on tap, as well as international wines from small producers. We offer a vegetarian menu and accommodate for any allergies or aversions. We look forward to sharing with you our interpretation of the best of our terroir.

We visited 18 Bay for dinner recently. The food was very good with some exceptions, and extremely overpriced. I had read about the fruit purses used to make some of their special cocktails. When I asked the waitress which seasonal fruit was being used she replied, "sugar plums". I was tempted to say, "as in the Sugar Plum Fairy?" but... More

I had the pleasure having dinner here not really knowing what to expect. The Chef's menu was a perfect combination of flavored and textures and wine pairs. I recommend making a reservation. All the ingredients are from the local farms. Great atmosphere inside and out.

This restaurant is well worth the trip. The food was superbly prepared and creative; drinks were excellent. Atmosphere is unpretentious and service excellent. Overall, highly recommended and even worth traveling to Shelter Island if you are not staying there.

Located right in the middle of Shelter Island and thus equally accessible to North and South Fork of Long Island this rustic house-turned-haven provides an ever changing menu of local provender, served "tasting menu style". The major elements are chef's choice of the local bests, though they are easy with, prepared for, and very good at substitutions for personal digestive... More

A beautiful, intimate setting. Wait staff is most attentive and the prix fixe menu was amazing. Brought our own wine from Southold Farm & Cellar and they graciously served it for a small corkage fee. A wonderful combination!

18 Bay delivered! Unbelievable antipasti, fresh and creative- pasta to die for and main entree was delicious. Opted for the salted caramel gelato instead of the almond cake. Perfect portions and very creative! Best mojito I ever had. A great value at 65/person. Would def go back. Sit outside on terrace if you can

The menu consists of four courses created by the chef. First is a selection of four antipasti, a home made pasta, an entree, and dessert. The antipasti were homemade clam chowder, yellowfin tuna crudo, eggplant, and a delicious leg of quail. The homemade pasta had a mushroom tasting sauce but also had slices of thin tender scungili (very different!). The... More

It's not on the water, and it's not as vibrant as some other Shelter Island spots, but the food makes this place a destination in itself. Everyone we asked on the island told us this was the best and they were right. You will spend over $150 for two people. You will have to wait patiently. You will not eat... More

What an amazing meal! The four antipasti were so delicious and so creative. Pasta a dream as was meat course. I can't recommend more highly. These two chefs are a godsend in an otherwise barren food landscape.

Not worth going...we waited for 45 minutes for the bread, terrible service! The fixed menu was left a lot to be desired. We had reservations and still had to wait 45 minutes for table, not acceptable. The waitress had a bad attitude and was not caring. We will not ever go back!
