We had been to this restaurant when they were in Bayville. It is one of the best I've been to. We have been coming here for a few years...I was reluctant to review it because I want to keep it a secret. 18 Bay is hands down the best restaurant in the Hamptons. The food is always exceptional, fresh and creative. Last night's yellowish tuna crude with melon, habanero and mint was epic. The home made pasta dish is so... More

I had no idea what to expect because I didn't do any research and the building (house) doesn't scream that it's super fancy (the inside is very very nice and the porch seating was so enjoyable). They serve a pre fixe menu which normally isn't my thing BUT this one was amazing!!! I had food that a) I normally don't... More

I think the food is the best on the isalnd. The proble is that there is a fixed menu with four courses. it is expensive and you have to be very hungry.

I'm not typically one for a price fixed menu, especially at a place that offers only the chef's choices for the entire week, but this was a rare occasion where everything was perfect. The four course meal was an offering of things that I would very rarely order at any restaurant I frequent. That said, this chef has it nailed.... More

We chose to eat outside, it was a spectacular summer nite, so when we made the reservation, we asked for outside dining. This is a charming old home that the main floor is converted to the restaurant, limited seating, reservations are suggested strongly. There was not an empty seat in the house when we were there. It is a Pri... More

My husband, myself, and another couple were vacationing on Shelter Island for a week. One of our friends is a chef and so we ate very well at home most nights. But I wanted to have one restaurant dining experience. I had eaten at 18 Bay last summer and enjoyed it but was a bit worried that my foodie friends... More

Right up there as one of the best meals we have ever had! Romantic low key place with excellent service. Every morsel of the four course meal was terrific. Very accommodating to food allergies etc. Four amazing starters followed by a fab home-made pasta course. I have eaten a lot of fresh swordfish in my life, mostly right from Block... More

Love their concept, prefixed menu. Now I prefer vegetarian, and they have the same menu with vegetarian modifications . How simple and brilliant it is! Only locally grown produce used ,extraordinary and tasty. Great place to being a date as well.

My husband and I have a young daughter so when we go out on our "date nights" we really want it to be extra special. Well 18 Bay did not disappoint. The ambiance is incredible, the servers are very knowledgeable, and the food is absolutely phenomenal. The four course antipasti was delicious. It was followed by a delicate homemade pasta... More
