Loved the food, especially the soups and prepared foods. Indispensable option for anyone staying in Shelter Island Heights. Marie, the French Chef, is very warm and welcoming.

We stopped in with some friends for a quick lunch. Marie, an enchanting French lady who owns the place treats every customer like family. I ate a Croque Messour, a delightful sandwich very much like a Panini. There were some just baked Baguettes that came out of their oven. I ordered one and it was just as good as the... More

My husband I crossed Shelter Island, hoping to find a place to have lunch. The first place we tried drove us away with the strong smell of grease in their parking lot. The next place was Reddings. We were drawn at first by the happy expessions on the faces of 2 ladies coming out of the door. Inside, we found... More

I stopped in for a quick cup of coffee and found some tasty looking snacks. I tried the pear torte which was absolutely delicious. They offer typical deli stuff with a nice grocery selection of healthier foods and a little cheese fridge. I would guess it's a great breakfast place.

Lobster salad par excellence. French food with an all American touch. Nothing disappoints and the staff will know your name and how you like your latte in two visits!

Great pastries, if not a bit overpriced. Coffee was better than other places being fresh, bold, and brewed nicely.

On my first day of vacation I stopped here and bought a great baguette that reminded me of France. I also ordered lobster salad that was mostly claw meat and all the tender parts of the lobster. I sat out back at a table and watch the water and the boats and settled into my vacation mode. Sadly, when my... More

Reddings has different types of sandwiches, such as grilled chicken, avocado, brie cheese with a lite tomato dressing. Or a crab cake sandwich on a panini with trimmings. The food is very good but it sure is expensive for a deli. We had 2 sandwich's, corn salad, 2 coffee's and piece of crumb cake - total - $ 42.00..

Pleasant place and good coffee, tea and flourless chocolate cake ! Boats pull up to the dock to drop by. The store has many unique items but we stuck with the tried and true!

The good things about Reddings are very very good, but they have become a victim of their own success. To begin with, Reddings is no longer just a gourmet emporium selling deli sandwiches to order, yummy baked goods, the tenderest butchered meat, freshest seafood, all manner of sides to go, produce and upscale provisions. With tables and chairs front and... More
