Worth the Ferry Fare and more....

My WA daughter (relocated to VA) & I took her 3 children (two 8.5yr olds & 6.5yr old) on the North Ferry from Greenport, LI to Shelter Island on a gorgeous day last week. After walking along the unlevel but picturesque sidewalks of this lovely place, we went looking for a family friendly place to... read more

First visit to Shelter Island. Spent several mornings getting breakfast here. When our polite, well dressed adult son asked to use the rest room, he was refused AFTER BUYING breakfast. Told to go across the street. Five minutes later the owner (we assume) told another patron to keep it "Quiet" that others could use the bathroom. Your food is not... More

Food was great with a nice back seating area outside looking over the Dering Harbor. Sandwiches and coffee were great the two time we were in.

Great place to grab a quick sandwich or pizza for lunch. Also have ready made salads in the cooler ( beet and arugula, ceasar salads, tomato and mozzarella) all looked good .If you are a vegetarian you can't go wrong with the vegetable and goat cheese wrap. Also the pork sandwich is great. Both served hot. Also available are burgers... More

I wish I had this by my house! My boyfriend and I had coffee and an amazing breakfast sandwich. Silly but this was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had!!!!!! (I heard the owner pays about $9 for a carton of eggs....and you can definitely taste how great they are!). I had an egg and homemade sausage on a roll... More

You will pay $50.00 per pd for their Delicious lobster salad, yet the poached salmon is a bargain! I had such a delicious filet for $6.50. the Tarte Tatin is very respectable, the choc. mouse delicious, and the pear tarte very good, very classic. The produce they sell is high quality for the most part. I bought delicious fresh apricots.... More

We can't comment on the prepared food, fresh meats and fish or the pastries, although everything looked really nice and fresh. We went there for a gelato fix and the two favors we had, dark chocolate and pistachio, were fresh and fabulous! We ate out back overlooking the marina and really enjoyed the experience. The market was well stocked with... More

Loved the food. Loved the location. Loved the cute little French owner and her accent. I was at Marie's on Monday July 13th, 2015, and had a great lunch with my family. All the food was trendy and hipster, but tasted excellent. We ate on a nice bleached white picnic table outdoors and overlooking the marina and LI Sound. What... More
