Black Cat Cafe was a delicious luncheon experience. We had the homemade tomato basil soup, which was de lish ous! Also had the Tuscan chicken sandwhich on chibattta. Also delicious! For dessert, the carrot cake, which I would strongly recommend. Friendly owner! Very accommadating! If you are in the area, stop in for lunch! You won't be disappointed!

Although we'd been residents of Central NY for the majority of our formative years, I was bringing my wife to visit the village of Sharon Springs, NY (Well, ok Beekman 1802) for the first time. We'd just flown in to Albany, and it was time for lunch. We could have dined at any number of other places but chose to... More

We ordered meals from the Black Cat Cafe to be delivered to the Glimmerglass Opera. The main courses were nicely prepared but the dough on the fruit tarts was completely raw. It had not been cooked at all! The meals are not cheap, so we expected higher quality for our money. Maybe the cafe needs more staff so that they... More

Brought my daughter here to explore something different in our area. We arrived around 1:30, so I thought the lunch crowd would have died down. I was wrong. The place was packed, & workers were scrambling around. We were greeted almost like we were in the way. We awkwardly stood in front of the door, & were told to move.... More

Here is the good news: the homemade breads here are great. The rest is not so good. The waiter was impatient with us and other servers. The corned beef was fatty. Gnats buzzed around the table. The bathroom was not clean. Would not return.

As we were traveling through New York after visiting Cooperstown, we were lucky to discover the Black Cat Café for a delicious lunch. They were kind enough to split the large sandwiches for the four of us. So tasty and lots of quaint atmosphere.

My Sister and I went to Sharon Springs to see the Beekman Mercantile and while we were there decided to have lunch. Alas there was one little café right across the street. The food was very good and they were making the baked goods right there. We loved the home town feel of the place.

My husband and I stopped for lunch while traveling through the area. We both had the Turkey Gobbler sandwich and it was terrific. I ordered mine on the homemade raisin bread and it was delicious, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce. My only complaints would be the uncomfortable old chairs and that the homemade loaves of bread for sale are left out... More
