Great Food and Location, A Summer Tradition, Expensive

We stopped in for ice cream after long paddles on the Erie Canal. The service is really quick! They offer a really wide range of ice cream products. There is something for everyone! One day, I had a "freeze" (like a Blizzard) and the next day I had a hot fudge sundae. Both were really good.

Jumpin' Jacks has their own style of burgers but excellent taste, moderately priced and the outdoor ambiance is very relaxing and actually rather awesome. It is a local place that is closed in the winter (go figure that for upstate NY) but a delight for the spring opening.

Not horrible but no longer great. Still worth a trip once a year but the burgers are average, at best, fries are limp and what was my favorite, the fish fry, has shrunk to a shadow of its former self. Ice cream hasn't been the same for a number of years. Great place to take kids, right next to the... More

A summer must-visit every time we come home to Scotia for a visit! Great dinner, amazing ice cream and even better on a night with a concert or a ski show! Nothing quite like it anywhere else!

OK for a burger and fries or something quick. This would be a fun kayak stop but their dock is not kayak friendly.

A trip to Jumpin'Jacks in the summer is a must - nothing fancy about the food - we had cheese burgers and fries - the onion rings are really good -takes you back to the 50's great location by the Mohawk River - they also have ice cream and shakes the fish is also good.

Jumpin Jack's has been around for a very long time. Located on the shores of the Mohawk River, it has the typical summer drive in, beach stuff...fried shrimp, clams, onion rings, French fries, hamburgers, hot dogs. It also has soft serve ice cream. It is hopping all summer long. The food is greasy, but for those who like that kind... More

Jumpin' Jacks Drive In has been in Schenectady before I was born! It is the first sign of spring in the area! Even though it is often still cold and windy, people will stand in long lines for a cheese dog or a Jackburger! The food is not gourmet but it is just plain good, cooked to order, fast food!... I get the concept of Jumpin Jacks and it's brilliant.... However, the hype is way better then the food! The servers are filthy, the food is overpriced and disgustingly greasy! Unless you want to spend the rest of the day on the toilet, I would steer clear of this establishment!! Ick!
