Brings a smile to remember this lunch

We stopped on a rain-soaked, chilly April day for a quick lunch. Not a big place, but very friendly and lots of local folks (everyone was greeted by name, it seemed!). BBQ beef sandwich - hearty and good. Accompanying french fries were served hot and crisp. A cup of split pea soup tasted homemade... read more

There are not many places to get lunch in this neck of the woods. We picked this place because of the crowd. Barbecue beef was good but a little dry. Fries chicken was excellent. Portions were bountiful. Service was excellent. All in all, we recommend this for anyone in the area.

Great spot to pass by if you're in the Adirondacks. They don't make food like this in Queens. We wish they did! The service is GREAT, and the pie is even better.

We had a delicious breakfast. I had the blueberry pancakes and my husband had eggs, sausage, and toast. Coffee was plentiful. The waitress checked on us frequently. We loved the old pictures of the town and restaurant.

There's not much off northern 87 in terms of good food, but a little research helped us find this small town favorite. We all had yummy BBQ and made sure we saved room for dessert. Coconut and chocolate cream pie, bread pudding and an amazingly creamy, light peanut butter pie (order this one!) were worth the trip alone. The service... More

Pitkins has been in business for 100 years and I think the current family has operated it for about 60 years. It is open year around and has tasty well prepared food.

We have been coming here for years every summer when we are camping in the area. It is by far our favorite place to eat and it never disappoints. My husband and daughter LOVE their barbeque sauce. My son and I enjoy the hot turkey sandwich. Delicious desserts. Friendly service. It's nothing fancy but oh so enjoyable.

This is a down-home, feel good restaurant that aims to please! The service is friendly, fast and jovial. The food is finger-licking good and the atmosphere is what you would want and expect in an Adirondack family owned place to eat. And… the price is right. Pitkins is also a good place to stop in for a cup of coffee... More

While driving through the Adirondacks we stopped here and want to get the word out about Pitkin's. Our usual spot in Chestertown was closed so we went further and discovered this. Pitkin's Restaurant has been in business since 1907 (printed right on the business card) and is obviously a local favorite for good reason! It is a true small town... More

The pies are all homemade and excellent. The puddings and deserts are great. The BBQ is the best in town in my opinion. The food is always good, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The service is by far the best in town. The owner, Marie, is the best... Go there...not fancy but always good and always consistent. Try the BBQ...
