There's not much off northern 87 in terms of good food, but a little research helped us find this small town favorite. We all had yummy BBQ and made sure we saved room for dessert. Coconut and chocolate cream pie, bread pudding and an amazingly creamy, light peanut butter pie (order this one!) were worth the trip alone. The service... More

Pitkins has been in business for 100 years and I think the current family has operated it for about 60 years. It is open year around and has tasty well prepared food.

We have been coming here for years every summer when we are camping in the area. It is by far our favorite place to eat and it never disappoints. My husband and daughter LOVE their barbeque sauce. My son and I enjoy the hot turkey sandwich. Delicious desserts. Friendly service. It's nothing fancy but oh so enjoyable.

This is a down-home, feel good restaurant that aims to please! The service is friendly, fast and jovial. The food is finger-licking good and the atmosphere is what you would want and expect in an Adirondack family owned place to eat. And… the price is right. Pitkins is also a good place to stop in for a cup of coffee... More

While driving through the Adirondacks we stopped here and want to get the word out about Pitkin's. Our usual spot in Chestertown was closed so we went further and discovered this. Pitkin's Restaurant has been in business since 1907 (printed right on the business card) and is obviously a local favorite for good reason! It is a true small town... More

The pies are all homemade and excellent. The puddings and deserts are great. The BBQ is the best in town in my opinion. The food is always good, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The service is by far the best in town. The owner, Marie, is the best... Go there...not fancy but always good and always consistent. Try the BBQ...

We felt the dining options in Schroon Lake were somewhat limited but didn't want to travel far after arriving later than expected at our accommodation, so decided to opt for Pitkins. The menu was limited but we enjoyed what we ordered - would we come again to this restaurant? Probably.

We were looking for a quick, no frills lunch on the way back from an extended road trip. We found this lovely little restaurant where they serve fresh, home made food. Add to that friendly staff and friends showing up for a great little lunch and chat. Oh, and they serve fresh baked pies. Even if you're not really hungry,... More

Good food. Definitely a step above diner tastes. I did not expect the trout to be so tasty. Very basic diner decor and no alcohol.

We stopped in here for dinner after a long day of site seeing. When we came in they were a bits low but about 10 minutes later they were busy. The waitress was friendly and answered all our questions about the photos on the wall. The photo of the townspeople on the street celebrating the end of the war was... More
