Quite honestly we didn't expect to find anything interesting in the middle of the Adirondacks out of season. When you do the trek from Montreal to NY or the other way there mostly are Subways and McDonalds on the way. This place is relatively close to the highway and definitely worth a detour. Every time I go in, I've got the mindset to try something different, but the bbq beef plate calls me back every time! Their bbq sauce is awesome and their sides are homemade. The service is always excellent...make sure you save room for pie!

Went to Pitkins for dessert and the place was crowded as there was a conference at Word of Life Inn which is nearby. Got the pumpkin pie with whipped cream and it was very tasty. Service was a little slow due to the crowd but the waiter was attentive as he could be with the numbers.

Nothing fancy, but coffee is good, service is good with a typical breakfast menu. Hot, efficient and local :)

Service was great, food was out of sight and prices were very good. The owner makes all of her pies fresh each day and they are great. We took breakfast and dinner there and the results were the same each day. Portion sizes were quite large. Highly recommend for casual dining.

Love this old fashioned dinner, had the rueben which was perfect, friends had burgers, cheddar broccoli soup and potato salad and everyone loved their choices.

We only came here for dessert one evening and again for breakfast the next morning. Had pie both times! There other selections for both breakfast and dinner looked appealing and were reasonably priced. The wait staff were super friendly. Our favorite pies were raspberry rhubarb abduction coconut cream.
