Perreca's has been well-known for generations for their hearty, crusty long and round loaves of Old World Italian bread. Located in Schenectady's Little Italy section, people come from all over to buy bread for friends and family. Stores around the area take pride in advertising they carry Perreca's bread. Celebrities who come to the area for various reasons fall in... More

Must try for the best breakfast in town. Homemade great - eggs in purgatory - poached eggs in a marinara sauce with the hard crusted bread. After breakfast go next door to the deli and get all the homemade bread and pastry and Italian meats.

Excellent bread from the bakery! The restaurant was very good too.......casual and comfortable atmosphere with nice choices from the lunch menu. The kitchen is visible and clean! Will use the parking lot in the back the next time instead of the street parking. Pasta salad and soup was delicious.

I was surprised how empty the restaurant was on the evening we visited. The food was good but not outstanding. Two out of our 4 orders came with a VERY spicy sauce, caused by confusion in the kitchen, and were nearly inedible. It seemed to take a long time to convince them that something was not right. Apparently the regular... More

I was in town on business and discovered this restaurant through Tripadvisor. I loved this charming restaurant and bakery in Schenectady's Little Italy. The food was really affordable and delicious. The service was really great. I was there by myself but felt totally comfortable and relaxed as I took in the ambience. My favorite part was the chocolate cupcake I... More

Hands down, beyond dispute the best Italian bread I've ever had. Dense, chewy crisp crust and wonderful flavor. I don't eat many carbs, but I rightfully splurged here. Not only do people travel crazy distances to come here, but, for good reason, Jack Nicholson has several loaves flown to LA weekly.

This bakery represents the soul of Schenectady. Located smack dab in the middle of little Italy, it is a local institution! And even though the head baker, Tony, beat me in wrestling way back in 1980, I still happily pay homage to this Italian bread emporium!

Been our " go to" place for the best bread in town! When my now grown children were small, had to buy an extra loaf for them to eat in car as they could not wait until we got home! Then during their college years, our visits were not complete without bringing them bread from Perrecas. ...Family owned, legendary, turning out the best for... More

They have the best Italian bread around. It is a hard crust Italian and they also have Sicilian pizza. We were amazed at the large cupcakes we had there that were delicious. Be sure to try the sharp provolone cheese.
