Best bread - food okay

We often have Perreca's cater work events as it's close by. The food is always good. But the bread! Oh my the best italian bread ever! If you're stopping in for bread, be sure to get there early as they sell out quickly!

Perreca's Bakery is a classic in Schenectady and famous for its bread: hard and crusty on the outside, dense and soft on the inside. With the addition of their restaurant, you can now enjoy great Italian themed meals as well. but their breakfast is a sleeper secret: try the eggs in purgatory!

They are well known for their italian bread throughout the area. They now have a great Italian restaurant right next store to their bakery. Their food is authentic and delicious!

Maria P comes up with these ideas. Eggs in Purgatory consists of two eggs cooked in a spicy tomato sauce, served with a chunk of bread; HER BREAD! This place is always full of interesting people, enjoying good food. Better than pub grub, but not elegant. Considering its location on Jay Street in Little Italy, who would not expect that?... I go to the bakery, not their next door sit down eatery. The bakery offers a variety of outstanding and fairly priced Italian goodies but the standouts, in my mind, are the bread and tomato pie. The bread is legendary and the rule of thumb for many loyal patrons is buy one or two to take home and one small... More

We sought an early dinner after the matinee show at Proctor's. This was just the thing to warm us up on yet another cold winter day. Waitress was knowledgeable and attentive throughout. A special pre fixe menu- appetizer, soup/salad, entrée & dessert for $19.95; it was tempting. Instead we tried the artichoke appetizer and a salad to begin. Both were... More

I was here last week for breakfast at 12 noon-they wouldnt serve lunch to us. The food was good although it wasnt what I was hoping to eat but unfortunately the service was terrible. Had to wait to get syrup and butter and by the time it was finally received, the food was cold, The service was also very poor... More

I've only been here for breakfast so I can't speak to the lunch/dinner food or service. Went with a friend and enjoy a delicious (and huge) cappuccino. We shared a piece of the fried dough which was just right. Large portion, so easily shared. It had just the right 'dough' consistency: not airy and empty but nice and dense. We... More

Had lunch with friends recently, The food, service and value for the meal was excellent as always. I also like to go to the bakery connected to the restaurant for fresh homemade Italian bread, cold cuts, Homemade pizza, cookies. Never a disappointment.
