OwnerJackie has created hometown warmth in a delightful restaurant on upper Union Street in Schenectady. Mr. Wasabi has wonderful handmade rolls, delicious entrees and terrifically spiced soups. If it's great sushi you want, this is your place! The fish is generous and fresh. One of my favorites in all my travels... Glad it's here at home!

My friend lived in Japan and became a "sushi-snot" and will only eat at Mr. Wasabi. She introduced me to this place a few years ago and we've never been able to find a petter place that compares. There are cheaper places, even all you can eat places, but you get what you pay for. The quality here is top-notch!

Mr. Wasabi is a bit of a drive for me, but when I am craving amazing sushi rolls, this is one of the places that I go. And it's always worth the drive, every time. The staff is never a disappointment; even on busy, crowded nights, the service is still good. The food is always fantastic and they have an... More

My friend and I both got noodle dishes for dinner. She got the shrimp and I got the scallops for the same price. The shrimp is a much better deal since you get a good number of shrimp but I got very few scallops, and tiny ones at that. But the soup with vegetables was very good and the moon... More

This is a very good sushi restaurant with great wait staff and good food. I have been there several times and would go weekly if I did not live an hour away!

I came here for the first time with my boyfriend as a last minute decision. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered: Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon and the Peanut roll. The crunch added a great texture. The rolls were very delicate and so tasty. We also order the pork dumplings--AMAZING. As a side,... More

Good service and tasty sushi and tempura. But the udon noodles were not at all authentic. THe chicken katsu was thin sliced rather than the thick pieces of meat served in authentic Japanese restaurants. This place also had Thai items on their menu - so perhaps its run by Thai people?

The food here is always good, if not very exciting. We went with a large family party and found the staff very attentive and accommodating.

Maybe this is a great spot for sushi; I don't know because I didn't have any, but it looked spectacular when it was being delivered to other tables. I was anxious to experience the convenience of hibachi cooked Japanese cuisine so close to my house, however, was disappointed with the quality of the food we received. Teriyaki chicken arrived "white"... More

Rolls we received were not what we ordered. Staff wasn't very accomodating. The owner/manager was polite & helped out, though.
