Atmosphere and service are good, too (as are the beers). Celebrated my daughter's (1st) 29th birthday here. The Arugala and Spring mix salad is very good as is the white balsamic dressing. The fresh bacon appetizer was fantastic. Had one of the evening's specials this night, it was a roasted veggie's pizza...had it on whole wheat crust. It was very... More

Was there 2 times in 2013. One time was good, the other time so-so. Location is key--excellent atmosphere--great for pre-show drink….however, the food needs a step up.

I went to Aperitivo twice while in Schenectady and found it delicious both times. My first visit I had the Lobster Roll special- lots of claw meat, not too mayonnaise-y, toasted/buttered roll. Very good. And the accompanying salad was lightly, and flavorfully, dressed. On my second visit, we had several selections from the menu... the Honey Whipped Feta Jar with... More

Our friend Tracey had dined here before so when we thought about going somewhere after "Phantom Of The Opera" at Proctor's we decided on trying out Aperitivo. We love Tavolo and other Mazzone properties and expected a nice experience. It was actually better than I thought it would be. It's spacious and fresh with a great atmosphere. The serveres were... Had 4:30 reservations here after a show at Proctors. Show let out early so we arrived early. I had made my reservation on Open table and requested a table near the front where they have open doors to the street, and we were seated immediately in a perfect spot right where we requested. Waitres appeared promptly to take our drink... More

I had dinner at Aperitivo Bistro with three friends before going to a performance at Proctor's Theater. The person taking my reservation was very gracious and helpful. Unfortunately, we were held up in traffic and arrived 1/2 hour after our scheduled reservation. The maitre'd informed us that our reservation had been cancelled but he was able to seat us at... More

Schenectady has many fine restaurants, but Apertivo is a gem, especially in the Mazzone Hospitality crown. The food is unique, entertaining and tasty. We had our New Years Eve dinner here as well as a Retirement get together for me and my mother's 80th birthday party here and we were thrilled each time. The menu selections vary by season and much is locally... More

We grab a bite before the Broadway shows at Proctors and the food is always very good. The staff are friendly, pleasant, and accommodating. We'll often get a few things to share. The menu changes seasonally, which is nice for those of us who visit regularly, although there are some things we really miss once they're gone! Not inexpensive, but... More

Stopped by for a bite to eat before the show and got great recommendations from out waiter. Not only did he keep track of time so we wouldn't miss our show his food recommendations were fabulous. The restaurant is long and narrow with lots to see. When we couldn't finish it all it was wrapped to go with a delectable... More

We really enjoyed our first visit to Aperitivo on a recent Sunday evening -- we reserved for 5:30 because of a 7:30 curtain at Proctor's Theatre, a couple of doors down the street, and are really glad we did. By 6:00 or a little later the place had filled with diners who all seemed to be enjoying themselves, as indeed... More
