For the adventurous eater...

My niece and I LOVE NWHC! However, my wife, who is a self-confessed "plain eater," will not eat there. Their recipes are fresh, unique and carefully prepared, but everything is spicy, even when the waitstaff assures you it's not. What's seitan? I have no idea! But it was delish! Oh, and their... read more

Our server barely came to the table, which was frustrating. The food was very good, but also very spicy. I like spicy but my friends were dying! The prices were a bit hi, but it was Valentine's day. I would try it again.

IWe have enjoyed some delish eats at NWHC. While right now it is not salad season, when it is, I like Ric's Caesar, and the Kale salad. Always with a protein add-on. Service has been fine the last number of times-- in fact the last several years, happy to say. Sorry brunch is off the menu right now-- but it... More

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Woodstock over Presidents weekend - which was also Valentines weekend and Mardi Gras. NWHC was decorated in a Mardi Gras theme on the Friday night we were there and they had a a special menu that went along with the theme. But - their regular menu had soooo many things we... More

Sadly, a terrible night at NWHC. Warm prosecco in a dirty glass, slow service, cold and greasy fries, tasteless Thai green curry with pre-cooked, dry grilled chicken apparently thrown in at the last minute. If that wasn't bad enough, my dining partner found TWO hairs in her salmon sandwich. No, we did not say anything because we were hungry and... More

In our opinion this should be in first place. We go there several times a month, and are never disappointed. The food is sustainable, organic, and local when possible. The chefs are artists, the flavors amazing. The waitstaff is fantastic - knowledgeable and friendly. If you love spicy, you can get the best here. If you don't love spicy, there... More

I've now dined here a few times. Most recently my friends and I dinned here on a Friday evening. The crowd was solid; not too loud or rowdy. The food is quite enjoyable. The chef takes a twist on more traditional flavors. Great seasonal specials. The pork bellies are terrific, as is the salmon. The specials have been good, but... More

Was here with friends for dinner and we all had a very good meal. Started with the green beans, tasty and spicy as well as the Brussels sprout chips, yum, and the tuna tartare. All three dishes were very good. I had the Pho Bowl for dinner which was also very good. Friends had the salmon, excellent, and a strip... More

New World Home Cooking is midway between Saugerties and Woodstock on route 212 and is must-stop restaurant for my husband and me whenever we're in the area. Delicious, creative food, great service and lots of choices for people with dietary restrictions. Dishes are flavorful and memorable. The ambiance is homey, and the menu offers comfort foods but with a new... More

Meals here are always consistently great. NWHC specializes in "clean" food. Great quality ingredients, healthfully prepared. They cheerfully accommodated my special dietary needs, (no dairy/ no gluten).
