Good Dinner Near Woodstock

This was another restaurant recommended by the owner of our and B, outside of Woodstock about 8 miles. The menu is varied and specializes in farm to table cooking as well as interesting entrees and appetizers. The menus features some Spanish specialties. I had the Ropa beef dish, and my wife had... read more

My husband and I recently visited Saugerties for the first time and were so pleased that our innkeeper at the Harmony House recommended New World Home Cooking. Excellent food in an interesting atmosphere! Definitely worth the visit.

We were anxious to try out this restaurant. The menu is incredible - so much to choose from. However, it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks an an additional 30 minutes to get our food. Overall the food was very good.

My husband and I have been going to New World Home Cooking for 21 years now, back when it was located on Zena Road in Woodstock. The owner/chef Ric Orlando is absolutely amazing and has recently been a winner on the show "Chopped". He still remains very people oriented and takes the time to come over and say hi. Just... More

It has been too many years now and I hope that their food is more mainstream, less esoteric. It's difficult to find something to eat unless you are adventurous

A huge menu that I could not choose from because I wanted it all. Kept asking myself and my group how it's possible to have such a wide range of food and still nail it. If you are reading this just go! You won't regret it.

Absolutely loved this place, one of the best places that I have eaten in a while. Had oysters and littlenecks a couple of cocktails and the kale salad and the chicken wings with the dirty blond BBQ sauce. Hubby had the meatless meatballs. Everything was fresh, meticulously prepared, portions were large and prices were phenomenal. Go for the spicy choices,... More

This restaurant has a menu for omnivores as well as vegans and vegetarians. I have eaten here twice and been very satisfied both times. I had the seitan dish this last time and it was delicious. As an appetizer, I had the beet medley - the beet chips were particularly good. I think this restaurant offers quite innovative dishes and... More

We had tried New World Restaurant while visiting Albany and were happy to be able to try their location in the Woodstock area. Their vegan appetizers and entrees are surprisingly very good and spot on for a restaurant which is not predominantly vegetarian, let alone vegan! We especially enjoyed the blackened green beans and the hummus as appetizers and the... More

I've been to NWHC about four times. It has the most amazing food I've ever tasted. Yesterday my friend and I visited and it did not disappoint. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and my friend had the jerk chicken, both were delicious. As an appetizer we had the Cajun blackened green beans, The most unbelievable appetizer I've had...
