In a city steeped in tradition, from its historic healing spas to the horses, there is only one family owned restaurant that has endured for over 75 incredible, edible years - Panza's Restaurant.

Panza's bakery opened its doors in Mechanicville in 1897. That was the first time Upstate New York experienced the delicious Neapolitan style brick oven baked pizza and other secret family recipes our relatives brought with them from the old country. Ma Panza and her husband Joseph were unable to speak English when they first arrived from Napoli, so they allowed their cooking to do the talking for them, and did it ever. Everyone in the neighborhood was talking about this new baking sensation called, "pizza." Ma Panza's authentic brand of home style Italian cooking became a staple in the Capital Region, and has continued in their tradition spanning more than five generations and still using the same brick oven Ma Panza cooked in.

Today, we still offer the same authentic Italian fare Ma Panza made back in the late 1800s, serving guests in our restaurant and providing extensive catering services for banquets, weddings and events.

Thanksgiving Buffet at Panza's

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Panza's $36.00 per person for the buffet - there was penne, lasagna, fish, cornbread stuffing - excellent - potatoes, vegetables and turkey and ham. The chef cutting the turkey did not want to give you much - having to go back for more still the same thing - maybe he... read more

This was my first experience at Panza's. Being around so long and having a great reputation I was looking forward to my meal We arrived and there was a wedding or party in their banquet room - hardly enough parking but we did find a space way in the back. The party was loud and thankful you couldnt hear in... More

My husband and I dined here for New year's eve. I'm so glad that we did! We started off with the mussels app. It was absolutely delicious! The mussels were huge, not the tiny ones that you usually get elsewhere. We then shared a salad which was also delicious. I had the veal saltimboca which was divine and my husband... More

We were looking for good Italian food, took a shot here and were glad we did. It wasn't busy so we were seated right away. Our waitress, Jean, was great the food was fantastic. The Fettuccine Carbonara was awesome. The Veal Parmigiana was prepared fresh and you could taste all of the herbs and spices. The Antipasto salad was a... More

We went to dinner here tonight and had a very nice meal. At first we sat for a while without waitress acknowledging us but the hostess stepped in and took our drink orders. Ultimately the service was good. The food was very good. Dessert was to die for!! Bottle of wine was good and dessert coffee drinks were good. They... More

The atmosphere is wonderful, the food and wines are excellent. Best meal during the Saratoga meet! We had a group of six for a birthday celebration. The restaurant isn't huge, and everyone in the place wished us Happy Birthday as we left. This restaurant, unlike many in Saratoga Springs, was spacious and we could actually hear one another talk without... More

Great place to sit outside for drinks and enjoy the view. On the lake, right across 9P from Panza's.

After sitting for quite a while someone finally came over and asked us if we were waited on. Once the waitress said she would take us and a few attempts to locate a bottle of wine that was in stock, things got better. Food was very good and came out promptly. Salad was tasty as was the pasta dish. Others... More
