In a city steeped in tradition, from its historic healing spas to the horses, there is only one family owned restaurant that has endured for over 75 incredible, edible years - Panza's Restaurant. Panza's bakery opened its doors in Mechanicville in 1897. That was the first time Upstate New York experienced the delicious Neapolitan style brick oven baked pizza and other secret family recipes our relatives brought with them from the old country. Ma Panza and her husband Joseph were unable to speak English when they first arrived from Napoli, so they allowed their cooking to do the talking for them, and did it ever. Everyone in the neighborhood was talking about this new baking sensation called, "pizza." Ma Panza's authentic brand of home style Italian cooking became a staple in the Capital Region, and has continued in their tradition spanning more than five generations and still using the same brick oven Ma Panza cooked in. Today, we still offer the same authentic Italian fare Ma Panza made back in the late 1800s, serving guests in our restaurant and providing extensive catering services for banquets, weddings and events.

The BEST Italian Food in Saratoga!

My wife and I went there on a whim. Heard they had some decent entertainment and great food. We were not disappointed in either. The pork special was awesome. Food was great, the service was great ... interior decor left a bit to be desired ... somewhat outdated .. but we came for food and... read more

My husband wanted to try one of the restaurants around Saratoga Lake so we picked Panza's. I had been there years ago but couldn't really recall what it was like. This visit was very disappointing. For starters, it is very overpriced. I had Shrimp Sorrentino. The four shrimp were tough, and there was no prosciutto to be found. Husband had... More

Ok to be fair I have eaten in the restaurant portion of Panzas years ago and it was quite good maybe we caught them on a bad day. Ok to start the buffet was just plain bad , it would be great if this was a greasy spoon diner but this is supposed to be fine dining. The salads were... More

THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. Dirty Martini had fruity flavor and that was after it was sent back. Clams Casino filled with sand, our waitress served the wrong meal after she was explicitly asked about a reccomendation. Upon returning with "VEAL MARSALA" it just got worse. Three medallions of over cooked rubber tasting salisbury steak like meal, with a sauce... More

If you want "authentic", come to see Panza's!! From scratch with love is how this place does it, and if you're anything like me, that's what you EXPECT from a good italian establishment.

Good wine.....that is rarely overpriced, unless you drink just want to pay for verycheap wine out. Tasty Italian of excellent quality. We eat all over the country and live NYC area as well as own in Saratoga. We have never had a bad dish here. Once we had a bad waiter, who left soon. There are many places to eat,... More

This restaurant has very good food. Very well prepared and presented. The sauce used on pasta dishes is very dark with a good rich flavor which comes from simmering over low heat for quit a while....not rushed! Not quite sure which spices are used but it is a very good sauce. Chicken Tuscany is fantastic!

I went along on a business trip with my wife to Albany, NY a few weeks ago. My wife was looking for something away from the busy crowds that also would give us some well deserved time together. I did some scouting and asking around and was told that Panza's Restaurant was worth the travel time to get there. When... More

Haven't been here in a couple of years, but it was a beautiful day for a drive around the lake. Reception and service were excellent, as always. They've been there since prohibition was repealed, so they've got that down pat. Don't know how an "Italian" restaurant can be out of Campari and not have a single amaro, but they did... More

Panza's Restaurant is across the road from Saratoga Lake. Four of us dined there, August 31, for the first time, late Sunday afternoon. The service was attentive and cheerful; the ambiance serene. The food was terrific. Ed had the Long Island duck, which he proclaimed "fabulous". The fig sauce was wonderful. Eileen had pasta with a meat sauce made with... More
