Generally Excellent with a few Caveats

A few years ago we dined at Mouzon House's sister restaurant One Caroline Street Bistro and had an excellent overall experience. We expected even better at the Mouzon House, which is presumably a bit more upscale and certainly appreciably more expensive. While we were in general happy with the... read more

We've wanted to go to the Mouzon House for several years. The wait was worth it! We had the Shrimp and Grits and the Bouillabaise...both dishes were outstanding. The ambience was charming and unique. The service was attentive and efficient...we had a perfect dining experience.

Special birthday dinner for special friends-overlooked it was "Restaurant Week" in Saratoga meaning hordes of people everywhere! No matter-sweet little "private" room in this gracious old Victorian, 2nd floor, with what appeared to be a "Team" of wait staff never missing a beat. While there were "specials" for Restaurant Week" the full menu was readily available. Best beignets this side... More

I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed your visit overall, but I'm sorry if you felt there were a few areas with room for improvement. It's very rare that we get negative feedback on the ambiance and decor, so I'm disappointed that it wasn't more to your taste -- I hope it didn't detract from the experience too much. In... More

Looking at their website we were expecting to find a refined French restaurant right of the road during our trip, but the website appearance was misleading. The location was a few minutes from the highway, parking was easy. If you like eclectic decor, this is the place for you, Buddhas and New Orleans jazz musicians are everywhere. The people at... Thank you for taking the time to leave us your impressions. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the gumbo, but wish you could have said the same about the Bouillabaisse. We do our best to serve only the most authentic Creole dishes, and I'm sorry if that wasn't your overall impression. If the Bouillabaisse wasn't your favorite, there are... More

The Mouzon House is an island in a sea of development is Saratoga Springs. The atmosphere is intimate and the bar unique. Derek, the bartender is very attentive to the needs of his customers and they have a great ranges of specialty drinks, wine, and beer. A Cesar salad with chicken, cheese and sliced apples was $22.00. Dined with a large party at the Mouzon House for a work dinner recently and had a wonderful experience. The chef's son was our waiter and he was extremely knowledgable about the menu and the wine list, steering us towards pairings that would work well. The charcuterie and cheese boards were big hits. I had rabbit gumbo for my entree,... More

My husband and I love the Mouzon House and dine here often. When we find ourselves childless for an evening, our first thought it always "Mouzon House!" - although I have to say, our 14 year old son has dined here many times and loves it. We probably come at least once a month. Our most recent visit was last... More
