A cliche - but a must in Saratoga

Really excellent chicken. Just super. Don't expect spacious dining but who cares. Last time I checked there were no bookings, so go early. If restaurant booked, try the patio/bar at back. And if in town for chowderfest, come here. Early!

Everything I ate was delicious. This was some good ol' Southern Louisiana down home cooking. There was a group of us so I tasted many things all which were to die for. I will list a few. Jambalaya, fried chicken, hush puppies, slamming mac and cheese, sweet collard greens, catfish, sea bass, string beans, and meat loaf. Oh and the... More

We don't eat that much fried chicken, but when we do, one can't beat Hattie's. Usually great service and excellent chicken, fries and/or cole slaw or some other equally delicious sides, Only drawback(and the only reason I am not using 5 stars) is that we can't make reservations. Sometimes, to work around that we order take out from their sister... More

Hattie's is a classic! No frills just great food. This is a little place we discovered a few year ago and it was so good we have made it a annual trip.

Hattie's is the best fried chicken around. Costs more than KFC, but worth it. And the collard Greens! Oh My, and the cornbread, Oh My. Cranberry cole slaw. yummy. This is a homey place that we will keep going back to.

Walking into Hattie's is a step back in time. At least it was for me. Pictures covering every wall in the restaurant, as well as newspaper clippings, tell the story of the wonderful woman who initially ran the place. The fried chicken - oh my gosh - to die for. Collard greens, sweet potato pie - a home style meal... More

It was still nice weather the last time we went in September and at outside(inside can be a little cramped) The signature fried chicken was good enough to win a throwdown against Bobby Flay a few years back and it's still good, but I like the ribs even better. Collard greens are the best I've had since I was a... More

I recently returned to Hattie's after 15+ years absence. I must say, like most things in a tourist themed town, things had changed dramatically. Hattie's was a simple walk-in chicken shack back in the day. Although the Name remains the same (Hattie was the original owner) the atmosphere has changed. Saratoga has always catered to the well-heeled however, Hattie's was... More

I almost feel a little silly writing this review since this place had been raved about for years by virtually everyone, you can see copies on the walls. My experience was awesome! The best hush puppies I have ever had, the fried chicken was amazing especially when you pour the special pickled juice over it they supply at each table.... More
