Dinner with friends ....

In town visiting and my friends asked me to meet them in old Saratoga Springs. Race season so everything was crowded but we were given a nice table out on their patio. Our waitress was very good and did a lovely job explaining everything on a complex menu. While the bartender took some... read more

Hattie's is a Saratoga fixture serving large portions of good southern cooking.Go with the chicken because that is the specialty;other entrees are an afterthought. All of the sides, like fried okra, are appealing but if you get a couple of them you will be leaving chicken on the plate. Also, the specialty cocktails are better than the pre-mixes you get in many mid-price... More

Awesome "down-home" cookin'. We had the jumbalya and the fried chicken with a few glasses of wine. Great food, quick service. Try and sit out back, the decor is neat!

Took friends for the first time and sat in the courtyard What fun! Great service, food was terrific (chicken livers and fried chicken!). It kicked off a great weekend. The best for unpretentious fun!

We've eaten at Hatties for years...a Saratoga institution that seems to be one of the few that maintains its quality from year to year (sadly not true of many of our prior favorites). Their fried chicken is to die for and they will give you all white meat or all dark meat if that's the way you want it. They... More

Wow! This restaurant was established in Saratoga in 1938! Hatties consistently offers old world Southern cooking that Is hard to find north of the Mason Dixon Line. Anyone who has a palate for Southern tastes will recognize some of the flavors here. The fried chicken (recipe since 1938) and tender ribs make a great sampling plate. I go for the... More

We have been going to Hattie's for years. We lived in Alabama for several years, and Hattie's compares favorably with the best of Southern cooking. The restaurant's reputation is built on it's great fried chicken, but everything on the menu is good. The weekend brunch is especially appealing - great deviled eggs, as well as wonderful hash.

Came on a Friday night to a packed house and multiple groups outside waiting for a table. Upon entering, we waited about 10 minutes and no one approached us to advise on the wait and take our name. The place was busy, but shouldn’t there be a sign, a host… some sort of process for new arrivals to get added... More

Had seen reviews rating Hattie's as in the top 10 places in the US for Fried Chicken. Since I consider myself somewhat of a fried chicken connoisseur, had to check it out. The place has a funky kinda New Orleans sort of feel to it. Very casual, very fun. The food was very good and pretty good southern cooking for... More

This restaurant is crowded for a reason! Great fried chicken, jambalya and gumbo! Do not come here if you crave healthy, low fat food! Only disappointment was the cornbread was horribly dry!
