1st time going to any Hatties, we went to the small one, by the mall. I got 6 wings for $9.99, didn't come with any sides. So add $3.50 for fries and $2.25 for soda. Pricey, but my sister wanted to go there. Ate 3 of the wings, the other 3 had feathers, quite a few. Brought them to the... More

What a great surprise to find fresh wonderful and creative home style cooking on one of the back streets in Saratoga Springs, NY...We had a wonderful time at the track and then headed for dinner. The staff was casual and friendly and we sat outside on a back street. I felt like I could have been just about anywhere but... More

I have eaten at Hattie's since the 60's, so needless to say I have eaten there under a couple different owners. These owners have done a pretty good job maintaining the original Hattie's atmosphere, and using some of Hattie's original recipes (or so they say). Their Southern Fried Chicken is tradition for my family. This dinner comes with 2 sides... More

If you get there at the right time you do not have to wait, but if you have to wait its worthwhile. We ordered the fried chicken and the jambalaya. The chicken as as always was outstanding, but the coleslaw was warm. The jambalaya was load with sausage, chicken, shrimp and okra. Both dishes were well cooked and the service... More

I ordered the chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and collard greens. My chicken dinner ($18.95) included 4 pieces - leg, thigh, wing and breast. I really wanted to like this place. Mainly because of all the incredibly positive reviews. I was incredibly disappointed. The first food to arrives at my table was a small plate with one biscuit and one... More

We had family in from out of town this weekend, and this is the go-to place. All 6 of us had different dishes, and they were excellent as always. The sides are great, and the fried chicken reminds me of Grandma's, not that over commercial batter-dipped garbage that people think is fried chicken. Service is great, and the music selection... Hattie's is an institution in Saratoga. We have only been to the one on Philo St. and have either eaten there or taken a picnic out with us. They used to have the BEST fried chicken on the planet. I think there may be new ownership and a slightly different recipe, because it was good, but not outstanding. Hattie's is... More

Perhaps in 1938 it was great fried chicken but by 2014, the rest of the world has caught up. At $19, you can do better. The room is small and tables too close together. The outdoor seating in the alley depressing. The service is upbeat but they can't keep wine in stock even with a very limited wine list. Take... More
