A little bit of the south in upstate!

The atmosphere is relaxed and homey and the fried chicken is the real deal! The place has a few quirks like counting gravy as a side dish but it all comes together as a great little place.

I lived in NOLA for five years, I am not an expert on creole and Cajun food, but I have a fair bit more experience than most north easterners. My husband and I picked out different things so that we could sample as much as possible. Fried chicken, andouille, red beans and rice, hush puppies... These we tried, among the... More

Not a bad word to say. My husband said,"you can't say they don't have my 80 year old Aunt back there in the kitchen making biscuits". That is the highest form of praise coming from him.

We have actually been here many times, this trip was for my husband's birthday. We think the fried chicken is to die for with the greens as a side dish...yumm! Mix that with their mojito's and you have a stellar combination. Always great service & a quick smile. Thanks again!

Stopped here on the way to Montreal -- 5 minutes off of 87. Good place to stop for a quick bite of fried chicken and sweet potato fries. That's their strong suit and it's really good. You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Pretty quick, no fuss service. Stay away from sides like collard... More

Hattie's fried chicken is the best I've ever had,the ribs, gumbo and jambalaya remind me of New Orleans. The best thing about Hattie's is their consistency. Saratoga is an annual trip for us and Hattie's is always on the itinerary.

Hattie's hands down has the best fried chicken. But all of the food is delicious. Cajun/southern themed mostly with great ribs, shrimp, fish and much more. They have a location at Saratoga Race course, and the chicken sandwich is unbelievably delicious, and huge so be hungry. Friendly service, fresh delicious food, great patio in the back. Overall great place for... More

When you want somewhere at a sensible price, not one of the standard chains, but serving good food, this is a place to consider. No booking in advance, so you may have to wait, but once seated the service is efficient and friendly.

Even if I am driving to NYC or NJ, I make a detour to Saratoga Springs to go to Hatties for the incredible fried chicken, the best I have ever had. The crunch is audible, the meat moist and juicy, and every bite tasty, even cold the next day. The sides are great, especially the collard greens and mashed potatoes.... More

If you don't like fried chicken (hubby doesn't) then this is not your place. My sons and I love it! Seriously the best I've had anywhere. Sons love the chicken livers, too, but they're not for me. Hattie's Chicken Shack in Wilton is great for take-out, too.
