Worth Checking Out

Dinner at the Left Bank likely won't disappoint based on our recent experience. The menu is limited, but there is likely enough to satisfy most pallets. Items are very reasonably priced and are excellent value considering the portions and quality. A Moroccan chicken dish I had was superb! While... read more

We are in lake placid visiting from buffalo. The cafe was adorable. Thw staff was awesome, she took our picture for us in front of an adorable picture on the wall at her suggestion, the food was amazing! We love this place!

We live around the corner and wanted a slow relaxing meal. My wife had the soup of the night and it was so good. The entrees were obviously fresh and were delicious. The desserts sounded great but we were too full. It's a warm and inviting restaurant with a very friendly wait staff. Highly recommend the Left Bank- probably the... More

Delicious food and truly gracious service from Anne. Very good wine suggestions, and a warm and comfortable setting.

We stopped at the Left Bank Café on Sunday. It was a beautiful fall day and we chose to sit on the outside balcony. It was not too busy, but the waitress did not acknowledge us. Finally after about 15 minutes, the inside waitress greeted us and brought us menus. The menu has a French theme and the lunch specialties... More

We went to Lake Placid and saw the sights and they have some good restaurants, but too expensive. Its not the money but getting value for the cost. So we look for great places to eat at a reasonable price; hidden gems. We were told to see the tuberculosis museum and other sites in nearby Saranac Lake. We enjoyed Smith... More

This is a great little restaurant. The food is very good; tasty, well cooked and well prepared. There is a lively, relaxed feel to the place that makes a meal here rather special! Sitting outside on the veranda overhanging the river is great fun; we did that once. Sitting inside on our second visit, we had the enormous benefit of... More

We really enjoyed our meal here. We sat on the deck along the river, it was so relaxing. I had a stuffed pepper that was stuffed with farro and zucchini. It was a creative combination along with the fresh herbs added on top.

My husband and are regular vacationers in the Saranac Lake region. The food, though, has never been the star of our trips until we found this place. Wow. We had the smoked trout salad and the salad composee to start. Both substantial, fresh and delicious. My husband them had the taboule stuffed peppers and I had the dunk confit with... More

This new restaurant on Main St has a creative and interesting menu, more like a modern urban dining option than the usual grease and salt one finds in the Adirondacks. We started with delicious salads, mine with perfect smoked trout, and then went on to entrees, one duck and one vegetarian, that were both excellent. The vegetarian was fresh and... More
