Just right!

A short menu with a special or two ensures that what is prepared for you will be delicious. There's always something different to try. The wait staff is very attentive, warm and welcoming.

Wow, had we hesitated to come into this restaurant, we would have missed out on a very wonderful dining experience. Sure the restaurant could be dimmed and candlelit at night, sure the music could have played consistently BUT, no biggie compared to the food quality- authentically prepared, colorful and succulent. My husband started with french onion soup, then we split... More

The manager and owner have put a great deal of time into the development of this cafe. Food is very good, with emphasis on the French touch. Well thought out, and seasoned nicely, bit more salt. Service for wine and food was balanced, and friendly. We will return when we hope the cassoulet makes the menu...

Disappointed - insufficient staff, very slow service. Long wait for drinks, one meal arrived cold. Some dishes were misrepresented. One dessert not served until we finally found tracked down a waitress. Paying our bill was a half hour wait.

Granted, we visited Left Bank after 4 days in the wilderness, but I think it would be an awesome experience no matter where you ate the night before. My husband and I, our 8 year old son and our dog all had a splendid time. The dog was offered water and treat; our son ate the crepes with a huge... More

I love the duck for dinner and they make the most scrumptious cheese bread sticks. I couldn't stop eating them... Very cute little restaurant with beautiful outdoor seating overlooking the Saranac River right below.

Charming cafe with authentic French food. This is not a hurry-up-and-eat place. Go ... Relax. Enjoy wine and conversation (and an appetizer or two) while waiting for your entree. Not inexpensive, but everything is cooked to order and worth the wait.

We had another delicious dinner at the Left Bank Cafe this past September. It was a bit cool to eat outside but the balcony over the Saranac River was mighty tempting. We stayed inside and shared a Gruyere crepe starter (yum!) I had the skirt steak special and my husband had the scallops. All perfectly prepared. I can't resist Creme... More

Again, we had an amazing dinner. Great service with delicious food and wine. We had the camerbert, snails and venison pâté for apps which were so good. The chicken, duck and lamb ere fabulous and the deserts took the night over the top. What a great addition to Saranac Lake.

If I'd rate the service I'd give it 1 star and the food I'd give it 31/2 stars. We were seated promptly by the hostess but then it proceeded to take 40 minutes to get our glasses of wine. There was only the hostess (who was too young to pour our drinks) and another lady who I couldn't figure out... More
