We opened The Beacon up, way back in 2000. It's been a great success since Day 1, only growing better with the start of each new summer. We've learned a lot along the way about what it takes to make a summertime-only Hamptons restaurant move and groove. As the light on the East End changes and a new season approaches, we are reinvigorated by the beauty our region provides us. The menu, the wine, and some of the faces may change every year, but one thing never does: our full attention to you.

Great setting, OK food, high prices

It's a great place to watch the sunset, perched above the harbor. The no reservations policy means either arriving before they open and stand in line or be prepared to wait. The $29 lobster rigatoni and $42 steak frites were average, the steak well cooked but gristly. Some of the appetizers were... read more

Don't believe the hype - this place is small and pretty but the food is just average! From an over cooked steak to a bland seafood bouillabaisse that was $45 I could not understand why there was a line to get in? AND THEN....the sunset...stunning. Absolutely stunning...go, have some light fare and a drink and watch the sunset - but... More

Even though we had no reservation and it was crowded, they were welcoming and accommodating. That said, the portions and quality of the food were over priced for what you get. Portions were small, my halibut was dry. No bread provided. Atmosphere was busy and hurried. Had a nice harbor view if you sat outside. You are paying for Sag... More

This is a restaurant that is seasonal and does not take reservations but it is worth the effort. The setting gives incredible water views especially at sunset. The bar scene is vibrant and the food is well prepared and presented. We like to share and this was no problem . Our salad was split in the kitchen and our delicious Tillefish... More

Lovely restaurant in Sag Harbor, was recommended to us by our lovely host. Loved the music in the background, had the mussels and then the couscous, absolutely delicious. Mussels were perfect. Would definitely recommend and would return. Staff were friendly and nice. Lovely to sit upstairs overlooking the yachts and the light reflecting on the water. Beware of the cocktails... More

Have been eating at Beacon forever. I love the food and the view is the epitome of Sag harbor and all that I love about it. The only " issue" is they do not take reservations. You need to show up when they open to have a chance of getting a table. It is a small restaurant. If you show... More

Took four of my friends for dinner. There were six in our party. Historically this has been one of my favorites in sag harbor. There are no reservations and if you get there by 6 you can usually get a table. The food is generally good and the sunset from the second floor is always wonderful - but not last... More
