I went to Il with my mother and my 6-week-old son. They were very accommodating, the food was excellent, and the service was superb.
We arrived around 9:30p.m. on a Saturday night and were seated without delay. The restaurant has a casual vibe and many of the people at the tables around us appeared to be regulars, greeting each other and the staff throughout the night. Our complimentary garlic knots were warm and moist - an excellent start to the meal. Although it seemed... More
On a July Saturday night my boyfriend and I anticipated every restaurant in town to be booked with pre-existing reservations...we were upset that we waited 'til the last minute to find a spot for our 'date night'! Until we walked into Il Capuccino! The atmosphere is so charming - I felt like I was in Italy. We were seated promptly,... More
Il Capuccino is OK with average food and average prices. I like to say you get a large quantity of "not-so-good" Italian food. You certainly won't leave hungry. Their garlic knots, however, are the best. If you are looking for gourmet Italian food, go to Tutto Il Giorno; if you want so-so Italian food, go to Il Capuccino.
I was looking for a restaurant in Sag Harbor NY to celebrate my Daughter and Son-In-Law's 7th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday. After looking at a few Restaurants, we decided to make a reservation here. After attending Mass at Saint Andrews in Sag harbor we headed down the road to Il Capuccino, we waited a few minutes and were seated at... More
We have been going to this restaurant for 35 years and never have had a bad meal! Jimbo, the chef, is amazing and always accommodating. Love this local place......
When I walked in with kids we were instantly shuttled to the back even after I asked for a table in the front. It reminds me of a restaurant I would go to 25 years ago. Basic Italian that's mediocre. The most charming thing was the chianti in the raffia wrapped bottle. Not for foodies.
This restaurant even has raffia covered chianti bottles in view. The food is plentiful and tasty. They don't experiment much but they don't have to to draw big crowds all year round.
We have been loyal diners at this Sag Harbor restaurant for over 20 years. Good food; nice atmosphere. However, the wait for a table can be excruciatingly long. Within the last couple of years they decided to take reservations for parties of 4 or more. My husband and I are empty nesters now, and we like to eat out...often it's... More
The chef, Jimbo, has a wonderful menu going.....he's been there for years and I can only say it keeps getting better with his cooking. The atmosphere is very cozy......and the staff is very friendly! My boyfriend and I go there 5 or 6 times a year. We especially love the way Jimbo does veal!
