I have lunch at Koo with a friend on the average of once a month. There is seldom more than a few people eating at lunch time, which is one of the reasons we selected Koo. I wonder how they stay in business. The restauarnt is a little on the dark side, but the service is cheerful. The sushi if... More

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful little oasis for lunch or dinner, this is the place in Rye. New owners, very personal, family business. The food reflects the kindness of the family. Our sushi and sashimi were excellent and fresh even on a Sunday evening.

I have long questioned how Koo stayed in business as long as it has. First opening after the new millenium we returned from an incredible Japanese meal in San Francisco one night to Koo's opening week the next night - it was magical - although VERY expensive. Now it seems to have degraded into a "Japanese take out" place. Tonight... More

Four of us visited Koo's for a late lunch. We were greeted cordially and shown to a table. The service was swift and friendly and we were soon served with the drinks which we had ordered. We chose our meals from the lunch menu. Three of us chose soup as a starter which was absolutely delicious ,my daughter chose a... More

I reviewed last year under the original owners when the restaurant was great but expensive. Under the new owners it is still expensive but everything is bland. I don't think these people know what they are doing. Stay away if you are smart. I cannot see them lasting long.

I am from CT and at the suggestion of a business owner across the street decided to try koo. She recommended the tuna rocket after I told her about my obsession for spicy food. I eagerly ordered the $15 app...and was totally bored with what I got. It was a tempura rice sushi roll in thick bbq sauce essentially. With... More

I used to frequent Koo about 2 years ago and it was the best sushi place other than going into NYC. I just returned to Rye on business and I was looking forward to eating at Koo. What a disappointment when I found that had changed owners and kept the same name. The sashimi was warm and the rolls were... More

Visited this place which used to be a favorite a few years ago when was here regularly on business It has been remodeled, the menu has been changed, and the staff/cooks appear to have a shift in demographic. NONE of this was for the better. The menu had been reduced to a few selections of run-of-the-mill selections, no specials and... More

We dined at Koo hoping for some quality Japanese food (my favorite cuisine). We were highly disappointed with what we got. Our appetizers were just ok. They lacked flavor and one was way to salty. The sushi wasn't bad but come on...$40 for a california roll and 4 pieces of sushi...give me a break. There is much better sushi in... More
