Valentines day special

Lovely large restaurant in the heart of old Roslyn (near the clock tower). We went for Valentine's Day dinner. The steak was made to perfection as were the fries and spinach. The staff attentive. Went here for a wedding shower, brunch last Sunday. I was delighted with the food choices and service. Everyone at my table of 10 enjoyed their entree's and commented on how delicious the food was. I will be back for dinner soon!!

We decided to come back to where our wedding reception was 20 years ago! We enjoyed the Great rustic atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious dinner. We enjoyed all the entrees and the desserts were scrumptious! The portions are more than fair too! We told the waiter we were married here 20 years ago and he said we should go and... More

Came here with my wife, daughter, and son in law for my birthday. Great rustic atmosphere, excellent service, and very good food. The drinks and food are a bit pricey, but based on the crowds, it's all worth it. I would definitely come again, especially when I'm being treated to dinner.

If this restaurant was in the city the prices would be double. The only negative that I can state is that one would expect patrons to dress a little better in a restaurant of this type but that's not something that the restaurant can control. The service was excellent and my tuna appetizer was fantastic. I dined there on a... More

My wife and I dined here this past Saturday night. It was our first time for dinner. The staf was very pleasant upon our arrival. Our waiter was both attentive and professional. We started off with drinks that were served nicely and a nice serving. I had the lobster cocktail to start off ,my wife a ceasar salad, both excellent.... More

We've eaten Brunch here 4 of 6 weeks in January and February, and we love it. The food is outstanding. The menu is comprehensive and diverse, and ranges in price, as it is a la carte. No drink specials, though, which would be nice. The service is very good, as is the atmosphere. Overall, as you can see we love... More

Hendrick Onderdonk (1724-1809) married Femmetie (Phoebe) Tredwell on May 20, 1750. They ultimately set up "housekeeping" on their country estate overlooking Roslyn Harbor, current "home" of Hendrick's Tavern. Hendrick built the first paper mill in New York State in 1773. He also hosted a dinner for the first American President, George Washington, "on site" in 1790. Hendrick's has never been... More

The place was very cool and the food exceptional. Best steak I have had, The flavors are plentiful. Must get the truffle fries, the fried zucchini and eggplant, the Kobe hotdog and the Mac and cheese. The black and white pizza was also delicious. Go with a group, order lots of different dishes and enjoy the ride! You must have a... More

As they say..."you pay for what you get"! It's true about this place. First you arrive, drop off your car with the valet. Once you walk in with your reservations(hopefully on Opentable.com", their greeting is somewhat warm and direct. You first notice the roaring fireplace near the host desk and the comfy bar area...really nice if you have to wait... More
