The Best...Bring Cash

Best fried clams around...and the chowders are to die for! Awesome. Very small place and you've got to love deep fried seafood, but it's really a treasure of the south shore. Not cheap (cup of chowder, order of clams and 2 beers will run you $40+ with tip) but worth ti...

This place is like no other. There are no tables , just counter service, OK, maybe 3 tables for 3 couples. The food is the BEST. You have to try them when delicious fried food is on your mind. the Manhattan clam chowder is like no other. Bring cash , no credit cards accepted. I ate there last night and... More

Went here for a first w/ a group of 5. Fried is the word of the day! The clam chowder was fantastic! I would have like to try the fisherman's stew. My sister cannot stand fish or the smell of. With that she had no problem eating in the establishment. That's because it is fresh and there is no fishy... More

For the classic New England style fried seafood there is nothing that comes close. Love the corn meal batter, never greasy, and the fries are excellent. The best fish and chips around.

Since I moved to Oceanside in 1956, and for years after, when I no longer lived there, I must have driven past Bigalow's hundreds of times. Never once did I stop in to sample their fabled fried clams. Today, I knew that my drive would take me past Bigalow's and I resolved to go in. I bought a small takeout... More

Tastiest calamari and chowders I've ever had. It's a bit pricey but for what you get it's definitely worth the money. Try the seafood bisque and Manhattan clam chowder!

Fried Ipswich clams at Bilelow's is like a day trip to Boston! In point of fact these might be better. Where does he get them, I have no idea but whatever to source, they are worth the diet busting while eating them deep fried. Make no mistake, Bigelow's is a no frills fry shack but so very much worth the... More

This place may not look like a typical seafood restaurant but don't judge a book by it's cover. This place rocks! Fantastic soup and even better entree's. Lots to eat and everything is terrific. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel right at home.

Bit of an odd place in these times. Seating is first come first served, no tables only a service counter. Food is awesome and also pricey.

The restaurant has been around for a very long time. They specialize in fried food. I did take out soup. The soup was very good, but also very expensive. The place was crowded and everyone had fried food. The food looked very good, but a try to stay away from fried food. If you like expensive fried food and sitting... More
