I have tried all the garbage plates around Rochester and Nick's is the best. I think it's the sauce and they don't kill it with the mustard and onions. Get the hots, burgers are good but the hots are the best. Eat it there.... it loses a little in the styrofoam container on the way home. There is something about... More

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. Not much to see from the outside (we actually thought it was closed) but once inside the staff was quick and polite. Good was ready fast and delicious. Definitely recommend.

My father was a Rochester police officer. He worked many long shifts and counted on Nick' for energy sustaining nutrition 24 hours a day. On the rare occasions that he and I would be downtown running errands, we would get 2 garbage plates. I remember clearing my plate at 13 and feeling manly like my dad. I have been back... More

Had a dog at Park Ave Fest and had heard that they no longer use Zweigle's . So very true unfortunately. A weiner on a lousy bun with a thin dribble of hot sauce. The hotdog seemed steamed and the bun was soggy immediately. Won't have another one.

The food at Nick Tahou Hots is bad, almost completely devoid of flavor, and fitting it's name - the garbage plate. But if you go to this place expecting anything else, you are kind of missing the point. It's a local institution and unlike any restaurant I've ever visited. Old school, take it or leave it. Extra greasy, paper plate,... More

A trip to Rochester, NY, is not complete without trying the Garbage Plate at Nick Tahou. As Buffalo Wings are to Buffalo and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is to Syracuse, Nick's Garbage Plate is to Rochester. But come hungry, it's tasty a mouthful.

This is a Rochester Classic. While really unhealthy, the Garbage plate is undeniably good. There are other imitators in the city and clearly a dish called "Garbage Plate" wasn't coined by a Marketing guru - the food is uniformly tasty.

Been travelling here for business for the last 4 years but never had the chance to visit this Rochester institution located in an old railway building I ordered the garbage plate special which consisted of tater tots, ground beef sauce, 2 hamburger patties grilled cheese mustard, onions, and a side of macaroni salad. I washed it down with a coke.... More

Now that I live out of the area it had been a few years since I had had a garbage plate. We went through the drive thru at the Henrietta location. Service was good and we had a garbage plates very quickly. We ordered them with mac salad, home fries, cheesburgers, onions, and meat sauce. Couldn't wait to get home... More
