Always a great time; great drinks; great food!

Small and intimate English pub atmosphere. Menu changes often; in traditional pub style with British chips; mushy peas; shepards pie; yorkshire pudding; etc. Most all foods so authentic and good. The beer and whiskey lists are quite extensive. Never a bad time there; my only concern is the tiny... read more

Very inattentive staff. They obviously like each other, but maybe not the average patron. They all sat at a table and talked about a party, while customers sat at the tables and bar. Beers were good with a nice selection. Had the Hyde Park sandwich and it was terrible. Very fatty, grisly meat. Fries were tasteless and greasy. Tap and... More

A great place to go for beer/ale and pub food. The owners primarily hire in students from England on work internships, and it adds a great bit of color to your visit. The food is good, and the menu includes a number of vegetarian options for those who need them.

I normally do not offer reviews but The Old Toad is different with its atmosphere and food. The onions rings? The best onion rings I have ever had. They use beer batter for their onion rings and their chicken tenders. I had my friend go with me a couple days ago and he agreed their onion rings were great, as... More

We were so please that the Toad did not offer the typical American bar food. The menu catered to vegetarians with delicious choices with great flavors. Cute charming pub. Good beer. Good food. Very casual.

my chicken curry was good, good local beer served. Too many onion rings on company's food choices. Very friendly staff: mostly true Brits doing work internships in US. They didn't have to pretend to have English accents.

My friend and I went for a lovely meal at the Old Toad last week. The food was great. The authentic British pub was fun and different. Even our waiter, a young man called Tom, was British. The service was fantastic and we will definitely return. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Always a great place for a few beers & some good grub in a super laid-back, friendly atmosphere. I have never been disappointed with the food & have been quite surprised by the quality of a few of the vegetarian options I've tried (veggie bangers & mash included.) The drink list is endless & the staff is always helpful &... More

It's a nice idea. Bring the UK to Rochester. The staff are all working on college credit in the service industry and very willing to talk about home. Even the bar itself was imported from England. The food is authentic with Shepard's pie and Yorkshire Pudding. They even have several vegetarian options. Their beer menu is a book and ranges... More

A great idea for a British themed pub. The beer however was not kept in good condition, I had Fullers London Pride and it was fairly flat. The meals showed promise, a nice range of starters and mains. Again on delivery they were Ok but not really more. I was disappointed.
