I have had a lot of fish fries. Rochester has many places that have fish fries, although one usually has to wait til Friday to get one. Not here, no sir-eeee. Thank you, Lord. Phenomenal. Just awesome. Cream of the crop. The fries were double fried and homemade. The fish was hand battered and made in house. Amazing. I can't... More

I have been to the Old Toad a couple of times and each time has been very good. I really like the atmosphere here as it feels authentically British. Every time I've eaten here the food has been good. My most recent trip was after a business meeting in the area so I had to eat by myself. I was... More

Quick stop for a celebratory pint recently. Great beer selection! Good pub menu. Went with a quick scotch egg...the real deal, great! Cool English atmosphere like you have really stepped into a pub in a London town square. Would certainly visit again!

Great and varied beer list choices. Dinner options good, and favorably reminiscent of London pub food. I had shepherds pie. Very good. Atmosphere is of a well worn, comfortable local pub.

Going during lunch time is great because it's usually quiet and service is fast. Food is good too, get the Shepard's Pie.

The startoff was just okay: garlic mushrooms. The Stonehenge salad made up for it. But the vegetarian entrée, Arrogant Beer Bangers, was one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. We've eaten at the Old Toad off and on for years, and the quality of the menu items changed with the rotation of chefs. This meal was by far... More

Quick visit the other evening w a friend, we needed a cozy place to talk w a few good pints. Very familiar feel and setting to British Pubs I have visited years ago. Good solid beer and ale list, attentive staff. Will be going back for food soon

I lived in England for a while and this place has got the spirit of england down. The selection of beers is amazing, especially for a somewhat remote part of the state, the food is good, and the staff are all English students and very friendly

The Old Toad is one of kind in Rochester. Most of the people who work there are from Ireland or England and it is fund to hear that wonderful accent. Service is great too. Many different beers to choose from. Prices are reasonable and food is food. One great plus, you get a free meal on your birthday!

This is a really cozy, welcoming place to get authentic British food and many specialty beers. All the staff is British, so it's fun to hear the delightful accents. Great place for a substantial meal or just drinks or both. They also have several delicious vegetarian options. Prices are very reasonable.
