We found this place on a list of nearby eateries recommended by our hotel. We went for breakfast and were positioned at a side wall table. As the center filled up we were disappointed that it was obviously the regular meeting place for lots of construction workers. In no time the language was rather ripe which in my local home... More

We like the food, the price, the service & the location. We enjoyed a wonderful fresh, fast breakfast. I was stuffed with their Eggs Benedict. I don't recall what my wife had, although the hot sauce that she requested for her home fries was spectacular! Told my older children about this classic in Rochester too...

Rochester's Mount Hope Diner is one of a fast-disappearing breed of neighborhood eateries. We always try to make it a point to have breakfast or lunch here on our frequent trips to Rochester. Popular--so I have it on good authority--with students at neighboring universities, the food here is reasonably priced, well prepared diner food. The burgers and fries are great,... More

Came here with family to enjoy a nice lunch. The waitress was prompt and accurate. The food was perfect to order, and the atmosphere is like that of a little family restaurant. Will return again. Also I am adding the first photo for this restaurant :-)

THis is a neat little diner across from a theater in downtown Rochester. Their burgers and fries are tasty, and they are packed on a Sunday morning for breakfast. But best of all, they make milkshakes in so many flavors you'll have a hard time deciding on what one you want! Remember those old metal milkshake containers that were so... More

You don't expect gourmet food when you go to a diner. Nevertheless Mt. Hope has a friendly neighborhood atmosphere, plenty of variety and daily specials. What the food might lack in quality and sophistication is more than made up for in value. Even starving students and seniors can afford to eat here on a regular basis and enjoy a typical... More

We come here often. It is a casual neighborhood diner type restaurant, with reasonable prices and a good variety of selections on the menu. They have a list of specials each day. The food is always good, and there is a friendly atmosphere. I recommend Mt. Hope Diner for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

I LOVE diners and as such try to stop in one any chance I get. I tried this one in particular both because of the convenient location as well as reviews I read here on Trip Advisor. Boy was I disappointed. I can't say the food was terrible, but it was average at best and severely lacking in seasoning. And... More

We ate breakfast at this small diner on a weekday morning. I ordered Eggs Benedict which were really less than average. The sauce was gummy thick and the muffins were overtoasted. My husband had a more traditional combination omelet with home fries. The omelet was average, but the fries were dry and not very appealing.
