Don's closed a few weeks ago. Will reopen soon as another site for Tom Wahl's - another local burger & fries place. some might consider this an upgrade! contractors hard at work doing the remodeling required.

Don's Original is definitely one of the best burgers anywhere in the world and at such a great price. The buttery delicious burger, perfectly crisp fries and great milkshakes are a treat when you need something wonderful and greasy. I only wish they were open until 4am so after a long night out.

One of my fondest memories of my years in Rochester (when I was college age in the late l960's) was going to Don and Bob's for burgers and frozen custard. So, when I drove through Rochester a couple of weeks ago, I decided to see if I could find Don and Bob's. The name has changed, and their new building... More

Wish we'd tried their food, but only wanted something sweet. Our server laughed when we asked for Jimmies instead of calling them Sprinkles:)

The Steak Burger was surprisingly good. The French Fries were perfect. Price was moderate. Too bad about the television above us blaring a football game.

I just don't get it...I live in one of the premier regions of the country and we don't have a Don's? What's wrong with this picture? One of my friends, whose husband hails from Brighton, told me about Don's. We tried to find it, and are glad we did. Be sure to get the chocolate almond custard, or the banana.... More

Admittedly, I'm nostalgic as we went to the original Don & Bobs when I was in school. NOT much in the world is better than Chocolate Almond Fudge ice cream. Burgers are still the same as 40 years ago...if you like 5 guys, you'll love these burgers!

While we didn't have a meal, my daughter and I both loved the frozen custard. We had generous portions and it was delicious. The place also had a great, old timey feel to it and the staff was pleasant.

Everywhere I have traveled to there is a place that everyone knows and frequents. A local place that you as a patron can depend on. Don's Original for most Rochesterians is that kind of place. I believe if you are looking for a great burger cooked the way you like it, set yourself down at Dons Original in Seabreeze. The... More

Don's (in its long since past incarnation as Don & Bob's) was the first restaurant I ever ate at even before I moved to Rochester. It has been a family favorite on Monroe Ave. for decades, with many different choices from burgers to a variety of interesting sandwiches and salads. Its a family restaurant that is great for family visitors... More
