As customers for 24 years we believe that this is still the best Vietnamese food in town, and was again last evening when we were in. We always have a hard time getting by our stand-bys, the addictive fried Vietnamese springrolls and the refreshing shrimp vermicelli bowls. Or go with the duck or barbeque pork from the front window, and... More

Our family loves to dine at Dac Hoa Restaurant on Monroe Avenue. We love the extensive menu and never become bored with the choices. The food is consistently high-quality and the service has always been friendly and attentive. We feel as though we are being treated to a home-cooked Vietnamese meal. The plain storefront building only adds to the mystique... More

Don't be put off by the lack of ambiance in this storefront restaurant, with plastic tablecloths and houseplants in the large windows. The host (and presumed owner) greets and seats all diners. She is a very likable, friendly, and talkative woman, who runs a tight ship. Their menu is exhaustive, but for me their multiple options for me, the duck... More

The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. Lu has an amazing memory and always remembers what our entire family enjoys the most. They are very vegan friendly and Lu will tell you if something has any animal products in it...and most of the time can make it without. Some personal favorites are the Pad Ke Mau and the... More

The owner Lu always remembers That I "only eat vegetables, NO Meat!" The Thai & Vietnamese choices are the best in Rochester .The Chinese is excellant too. They cook your food when you order it..so go there when you have time. The parking lot is always crowded, but that's because the bar next door gets a lot of business during "Happy... More

The cuisine is simple, the hospitality warm and wonderful, the vermicelli bowls are simply the best I've had anywhere. My personal favorite is the one with a combination of BBQ pork and cut fried spring roll (#12). The fresh spring rolls which are made fresh to order are something people remember for years. I have friends who stop by for... More

Dac Hoa is by far one of my favorite spots in Rochester, I've been coming here for the 12 years I've lived in Rochester and I keep coming back for more. It's practically like eating at home. The menu at Dac Hoa is long and covers Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai. I've never ordered off of the Chinese side although many... More

Dac Hoa is all about incongruity. About the staff hanging cooked ducks by their necks in the restaurant window and then taking orders from leery customers. About staff stumbling with English while remembering whom you last dined there with half a year ago. And above all, Dac Hoa is about the food: savory, ample and hearty. I am not a... More

We enjoyed our meal very much. The staff was extremely helpful in assisting us to make our choices. The Vietnamese coffee was a nice ending to our meal. We will go there again to try their Chinese and Thai fare.

Tasty soups & noodle dishes, and providing roast duck and pig to Rochester & Syracuse! A nice find in Northern New York. Very much a old fashioned chinatown shop, with attentive and kind owners. I'm asian and was at the Rochester Convention Center for 4 days and I went back 3 times! Got my noodle fix satisfied. No car? It's... More
