Always enjoy the food here. It is great to eat outside. Iced Thai coffee particularly nice. Good place to people watch.

I just had the worst meal in an Asian restaurant anywhere. Simply dreadful. I've lived in Thailand and Laos. While I know the genuine article, I can also be pretty forgiving when eating at Thai restaurants in North America. I'm not fussy. I ordered the Lao national dish - laap (spiced minced meat) with sticky rice. What I got was... More

Our server was very friendly, and that's great, but we came to eat. No Thai person would recognize the food at this restaurant as Thai. It's sort of a Vietnamese version of Thai food. We had panang neua and larb gai--two of my litmus test dishes at Thai restaurants--but neither of them were anything like what you would get in... More

My wife and I loved the food very much, Pad Thai chicken, shrimp and tofu. Everything tasted very fresh and enough heat to spice things up. It was nice to sit outside and people watch on Park Ave--with some nice weather for once! Our server was great, attentive and timely. Overall, a very good experience--enough so that Travelpapi will go... More

The place is a bit cramped, something you'll expect from a small generic china town eatery. The food is tasty and served quickly. The server is friendly and again, fast. This place is perfect if you want something fast but different from just grabbing pizza or fast food chain item. It is also better tasting.

We have been fans for many yèars due to thr family operation, service, and freshness of food. You feel well appreciated when eating there. Servers are knowledgable and enjoyable. Great Summer venue.

I came here for lunch on the sidewalk. The service was excellent and the food arrived amazingly fast for both items I ordered. The flavor of the Panang sauce was excellent but it was obvious it had just been poured over plain chicken so the chicken itself was lacking flavor. The unfried shrimp spring roles were good but not noteworthy.... More

Nice selection of traditional Thai favorites. Tried the shrimp panang curry with shrimp and was pleased with the amount of flavor. I also sampled the chicken friend rice which was an enormous portion and also very good

In the midst of restaurant row on Park Avenue sits Esan. It's really easy to miss but I suggest you don't. Went for lunch with a friend and got the lunch special which really didn't come with anything extra but the price and size were adjusted, I'm sure, to fit a lunch size appetite and wallet. I even had enough... More

I go to Esan often because the prices on lunch specials are great, the portions are generous, and very tasty. Also, they are quick and friendly. You can place and order for pickup, or eat in. I like eating upstairs when I can. My favorite menu items are the spring rolls, vegetarian Masamaun and Vegetarian Panang. There are many choices... More
