I consider myself an Indian food snob and I almost never eat at Indian restaurants because I prefer cooking it at home. I usually find Indian restaurant food too oily and rich and redundant in terms of spice combinations. Friends suggested Amaya and I reluctantly went, in part because Amaya is also the name of my daughter! I was very... More

Amaya was my first foray into local Indian Cuisine and ,sadly, I was less than impressed. As a disclaimer I should mention I have been to Asia and had the real deal so my expectations might have been a bit high. I suspect, and my Asian dining partner concurs, the food has likely been Americanized to appeal to a wider... More

Amaya is located in the corner of a nondescript shopping plaza off Clinton Avenue. The plane exterior belies the delicious modern Indian food to be found within. The interior of the restaurant is modern. There is background Indian music which is very pleasant and enhances the atmosphere. There is a full service bar and they serve a good martini (in... More

I visited amaya for dinner with my wife. Previously, we had visited the place for lunch buffet. And the food was decent which made us revisit. I ordered for samosa as appetizer. Of the two, one of the samosa was too greasy and oozing out oil . When i told this to a waiter or the manager perhaps, he didnt... More

We went with a small group to Amaya a week ago. The food was delicious and fresh. Our server was pleasant and upbeat. The dining room was very pretty and clean, without being over done. There is a fairly large and comfortable bar area if you like to sit and have a cocktail before dinner. The owners were there and... More

We went to Amaya Indian cuisine in Brighton last night for dinner. I was surprised to see it was rather busy. Our waitress although extremely busy greeted us at the door cleaned off the tables for us and the other two parties who walked in behind us. She immediately set us up and had menus in front of us. I... More

Visited this restaurant to celebrate my mother's bday and was surprisingly satisfied. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was excellent. Questions about the food were happily answered. Will definitely return to this restaurant.

So I went to my parents' house and I was in the mood for Indian food. My Mom suggested this place in Brighton that she hadn't tried yet. So we all went out to dinner at Amaya. The place is elegant and pleasant. Nice atmosphere. Our waiter (his name was Kaizer or something like that) was very friendly and we... More

I just enjoyed another wonderful meal at Amaya. This time, I was joined by 22 college students, many from India. They declared this food to be authentic and everyone went for seconds. Service is top notch. Sophisticated atmosphere and very welcoming staff. Jeff C.

I found this place on a Saturday night around five, first went with my mother who's a major Indian food fan. When we first walked in the place was empty, which we felt was odd but within 30 mins it was basically full, mainly families. Now we both enjoy Indian food and are always open for a new place to...
