All meat at Swan Market is hand-cut, all sausage hand-made by owner Barry Fischer, who apprenticed with German master butchers to bring you a taste of Germany that's authentic down to the last detail. Swan's renowned German lunches are served Wednesday through Saturday from 11 to 2. Grab a seat at one of the communal tables and hoist a glass of imported German beer. It's impossible to go away hungry! There's also live German music on the last Thursday and Friday of each month. Wan can also cater events of any size, with anything from cold-cut trays to a full pig roast.

First stop in Rochester

We arrived within an hour of flying into Rochester and our experience was perfect. On arrival, although there didn't seem to be tables available, they quickly found a spot for our family of 4. We are so happy that they did. The food was amazing and so was the conversation with other customers and... read more

Swan Market is such a great place to go for lunch or just to pick up some meat from their wide variety deli counter. The food is fantastic and you will always leave will a full stomach. It is a friendly and fun place that you must check on if you are in Rochester.

Like their motto says .... "The Best of the Wurst!" Never have I had anything other than great food, great sausage and great beer at Swan. Hands down the best bacon in Rochester, bar none.

Took my dad here for his birthday lunch. Was a little concerned that he wouldn't like the "eating with strangers" concept but he ended up loving it! I've been to places with this kind of seating, but usually out of the U.S. It is fun and a great opportunity to meet new people. O.K., so enough about that, it's really... More

I can't believe I've lived in Rochester all my life and never knew about this place. I had the great fortune to spend some time in Berlin last year and you must trust me when I say if you want authentic German food this is the place.

I randomly googled German cuisine and Rochester and the Swan Market appeared. I was thrilled! Driving there was not difficult but parking was a bit challenging. However - the food was amazing! I had the luncheon choose your own meat and sides. I highly recommend the brats, weisswurst, the sauerkraut, and the bread dumplings. Their dark beer was very impressive... More

Checkered tablecloth - long narrow table - jovial atmosphere... Like being in the old country.. Sat shoulder to shoulder and across from strangers, but it all was part of the fun. Great German cooking... not to mention the cold beer to wash it down with. Then one must GO over to the Meat counter and BUY some of the sausages... More

I'm not a fan of family style dining but the food is my excuse for "coming out"! I've never had a meal that was even mediocre and everyone I've met is friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Everything - as far as I can tell - is homemade and very tasty. It's not a place for vegans, but is is... More

If you enjoy wurst, sauerkraut, rye bread and German beer on top, this is the place. Swan serves top not versions of each of those listed. It's an unlikely looking place. It's probably not food that should be eaten every day, but it is a happy, welcoming and delicious place. There even is an oompah band a couple days each... More
