Staff is always knowledge about what they are pouring and I enjoyed the huge selection since the first time I came here. The menu, while good, has gotten a little basic lately. They used to do a better job with British and Irish fare. Wish they'd get back to this. Still a fantastic choice for am evening out.

While in total numbers the T&M may be beat out for the most draft micro-brews in town, they certainly win for the most balanced and thoughtful selection of them. The staff is very knowledgable about what they are pouring, and there are often special beer "events" held here. While I tend to do more drinking than eating here, the sandwiches... More

I've taken out of town visitors here - people who think they've been in places with a good beer list. They are always overwhelmed by the choices here. Bartenders are knowledgeable to the point of psychic. Tell them a beer you like, and they will set you up with one you're sure to enjoy. It's a friendly place with changing... More

I attended a work event here in May of 2014 with about 20 people. They were well prepared for us, had tables set up and had extra workers come in to help with the large group at a traditionally slow time for Tap and Mallet. The beer menu is huge and has great options. The food is not the best... More

I love the Tap and Mallet. It has an ever-changing selection of interesting beers on tap. The service is friendly and low key. There is a pleasant patio when the days are warm. And, the food is good - not spectacular, but a nice accompaniment to the tasty brews. I like the shrimp / scallop po'boy sandwiches as well as... More

Went based on the reviews and that they had Belgium Fries. Got a pastrami sandwich, burger, both with side of fries. With one soda, one glass of wine, and tip/tax, it came to $38. The fries were as good as I had hoped. I almost bumped them to 4 stars just because of the fries. The burger was good (I... More

Wonderful place! The bar atmosphere with the old wood, the eclectic crowd was great. Food wise, we ordered the Clam Casino - nice creamy sauce to go with bread - good bar food. We also ordered the chicken wings - okay, not that great. Go there for the beer - their selection is amazing! Their beer menu reads like a... More

Our meal on the patio/terrace was very enjoyable-wide variety of beers, which I don't drink, but greatly enjoyed pear cider. The menu featured local produce- a stone fruit compote was fantastic. Portions could be slightly larger. Service was great, waitress was very attentive.

Our party of four went here for dinner on a Monday evening at about 7pm. We didn't at all feel welcomed, the service was not at all good, the food was mediocre. Our personal opinions of the experience. . . burnt salty fries, gravy was too strong and too salty, flavorless polenta, dry pork medallions. (The pesto mayo was delicious... More
