Great burgers, but a little more expensive

Wonderful burgers made from fresh meat and hand-pounded. The price is a higher than what you'll see at some other places (cough: McD's, Burger Royalty), but the flavor is excellent. Many also serve Abbott's Frozen Custard, so be sure to check that out as a dessert option!

Christmas eve 2014. Empty and 3 person staff not happy campers. Famous cheeseburger was dry and warm. Kraft Swiss a different cheese from the usual American. Condiment dispensers empty. Tables dirty. Good thing County Health Dept inspectors were home for the holiday. This place totally down hill compared to original Culver Rd site in the '50s. "World's Greatest Cheeseburger"®? No... More

The burgers are some of the best in town, and you must order their homemade hot sauce. French fries are always tasty and crispy. I find their usual buns to be a bit bready for me, so I just ask for regular rolls instead.

Although I am not a burger aficionado, I've eaten enough of them to know a good one. I find Bill Gray's has an average burger for a regional restaurant. It is far better than the corner big franchise places but not nearly as good as many local and regional outlets. The locations are generally spotlessly clean and service is generally... More

I had some sort of sampler plate. The onion rings and mozzarella sticks tasted kind of rancid. I couldn't bear to eat it what was on my plate. Everything tasted really processed. My husband didn't like what he ordered either (hamburger and fries) and a milkshake. He was really disappointed that the milkshake was premade. On our way home we... More

Local Rochester tradition with greasy burgers, hotdogs, onion rings, fries, shakes...better than the national chains. All tastes too good.

Wife and I stopped in after shopping hoping for a 5 Guys type experience. About all they have in common with 5 Guys is the price. 2 burgers, one fry. All my wife ate was the beef, she liked it. It was a good burger, but there any number of places where you can do better. The price for fries... More

If you're looking for a good burger, Italian sausage or hot dog .. This is the place. I always go to bill grays when I am in rochester and have their bottled hot sauce shipped to me.

Bill Greys owns Abbots Custard. That there is one of the best reasons to visit one. If you visit the Henrietta Location there is also a really groovy indoor recreation of an outdoor town setting with a sort of idealized old time-y feel. The rest of the food is great too, The cheese burgers are very well made. They call... More
