The last time I had BBQ like this was in Sal's Birdland in Rochester, NY - a local icon. When my wife and I got there, there was only one chicken dinner left, as we were pretty late. As a result, we got to try the chicken dinner and the ribs as well. Another reviewer has mentioned that there are... More

My husband and I were craving wings, and boy, did this spot deliver! The wings were ADDICTING, and we just couldn't stop ourselves! We ordered a bucket of 50, and ate some for lunch, and then for dinner later. They reheat nicely! The delicious mango dipping sauce they serve with the wings was to die for, and the cornbread was... Anytime a restaurant has stayed in business for 30+ years (especially in an area like Riverhead) ... you know they are doing something right. Spicy's doesn't pretend to be anything its not. You feel like you are back in time when you eat here ... it could be Selma, Alabama or somewhere in the South in the 1950s. (minus the... More

We've been going there for years. Great ribs, great carolina sauce, Best collard greens anywhere! Friendly staff, fast service. The only drawback is the ambience of the dining area. The benches are shaky and there is a hole in the floor. It doesn't matter, though. The food is always great. If you're a little finicky about eating there, get take out.... More

We discovered they actually had fried oysters (not common here) and as Gulf Coast transplants we were delighted. We ordered the fried oyster platter, which came with fries and coleslaw. And, just because we wanted to sample their other fare, we ordered a (1) piece barbequed rib, and one order of collards, mac & cheese, and one piece of sweet... More

Great old school chicken spot, where they also have great collard greens, and ribs. Their signature is a mustard based barbecue sauce, which I like alot. Get their dinner meals for the best value.

If I would return, that for me is a good review. I'll go back. I ate here tonight with my adult daughters. We had an order of wings, a pork&beef bbq sandwich, and a 1/2 chicken dinner. All were good, and served hot. The bbq was spicy, but not too spicy hot. The sides of macaroni salad and collard greens... More

The best fried chicken in Riverhead. You can get full meals or just chicken. They use a special recipe that makes it taste so good.

Is this world class cuisine? Nope. But some killer wings done Carolina style with the sauce. Fair mac and cheese and other sides are okay. The 4 stars is because I dream of their wings.
