We caught this spot in the Indigo Motel on Hamptons Restaurant Week, which means we sacrificed the more exotic options for a prix fixe menu. Maybe just as well. The food was solid and surroundings comfortably unpretentious. One drawback, dinner music by a well-meaning vocalist accompanying herself on guitar was an annoyance -- loud and not to our taste.

They served great local menu items and had a grand piano in the main dining room that was played by random diners.

When I saw Long Island Blackfish on the menu I got excited. I have spent countless hours on Long Island Sound fishing for one of my favorite local catches and barely considered the other choices for entrees. Having cooked my own "blackfish" which is otherwise known as" tautog" in other regions on the east coast, I should have been wary... More

This restaurant made me wish I had a Delorean--so I could go back in time and choose a new restaurant. I think the waiter MIGHt have had one because he kept disappearing and never returning. Pros: dessert, wine and beer selection, waiter was friendly Cons: Caesar salad was very salty, entrees were overcooked, the wait between courses was PAINFUL. It's... More

We had an outstanding experience at Bistro 72. We started with drinks in the modern bar/lounge, and then moved into a very comfortable and cozy dining room, complete with a fireplace and live music. The portions were generous and the staff was friendly and attentive. The freshness and quality of the steak, seafood, and vegetables made for a great meal.... More

We came here on the off chance that they would have tables open on a Saturday night, without a reservation. That's right. 8 pm. Saturday night. No reservation. Upon arrival, the hostess informed us that unfortunately they were booked solid for the evening, as there was a special event going on with a jazz show. We asked if we could... More

We had drinks and appetizers at Hotel Indigo's upscale bar and restaurant on Sunday, March 10, 2013. We had stayed at this sleek hotel in year's past and enjoyed it immensely. This year, when we returned to Long Island's Jazz on the Vine Winterfest, we stayed at another excellent hotel but decided to relax at Bistro 72. My significant other... More

Pulled pork sliders where awesome! Atmosphere was great and the outside fireplace is the spot to enjoy a drink & cigar.

My husband and I have eaten at Bistro 72 many times; it was a wonderful experience. The food is phenomenal--Zagat rated. The service is great, too, ambience very nice, with a fireplace and cozy dining area. Delicious local farm-grown vegetables are served. We love it, and look forward to our next visit!

We went to Bistro 72 for Valentines Day dinner. It was so great. The service was wonderful. Nick was our waitor and he was awesome. We had a nice table by the fireplace, which was very romantic. There was live music by a terrific singer. Nick offered us champagne and told us the specials for the night. The food was... More
