Best Organic Bread Available!

I buy Bread Alone at the Farmer's Markets throughout the season. In winter we find it at indoor Farmer's Markets or DeCicco's Market or Whole Foods. The bread, the pastries and the rolls are the best!

I've been going to B.A. for years and have noticed in the past 12 months or so a decline in quality. If you get one of the special salads to go, be prepared to find it perched on top of a wad of bread. This makes it looks like you've gotten a hearty portion until you uncover the mass of... More

Coffee is how a begin to rate a breakfast place. Coffee alone will keep you coming back. It is just excellent. We opted for this breakfast as our hotel breakfast that was "included" in our stay was just so ho-hum...and we wanted something a bit more interesting. Their bread is excellent and we could have just eaten that if it... More

We visited Rhinebeck for the Dutchess County Fair and had lunch at Bread Alone. The sandwiches were wonderful on their own breads. My friend had Roasted Turkey and Brie and really ejoyed it, and I had the quiche of the day, also very tasty. We were able to sit on the patio as it was quite warm out.

Went in to this place really wanting to like it, but it suffers from being too popular. It was jammed with locals, messy and really noisy. It was three thirty or four in the afternoon and I wondered didn't all these prosperous-looking people have jobs to go to? Funny, as far as I know there is no college in Rhinebeck... More

We stopped for lunch in Rhinebeck, NY, while visiting the area. Not knowing what might be a good place to eat, we asked some residents sitting outside a bakery. They pointed to the bakery and said to go through the bakery and they had a good sandwiches in the back of the restaurant. We decided to try the cafe and... More

My wife and I dined at this lovely bakery and cafe recently while visiting the cute little village of Rhinebeck recently. First of all location: just 15-20 minutes north of Hyde Park on 9N. So after you do all of your museum and old house tours, do yourself a big favor and toodle on up to beautiful and historic Rhinebeck... More

We had a light breakfast at Bread Alone - coffee, quiche, croissant, all pretty good- and then bought a giant round loaf that - in my experience after 25 years living in the States - comes the closest to crusty European breads. Just amazing... if you like crusty bread of course :-)

If you seek the most popular spot to See and Be Seen in Rhinebeck, then Bread Alone is for you. The quality of the offerings is good, but this is not a budget choice. This is Hipster Brooklyn on the Hudson. The bread is good, but not Wow good. No WiFi, clean unisex toilet.

My friend and I dropped in for breakfast. I had a Hudson River breakfast of eggs (any style), bacon home fries, toast, and coffee. My friend had French toast, and a latte. The French toast was made of a wonderful thick sourdough. Both our meals were very good, and we really liked this place. I also bought a loaf of... More
