We enjoyed our visit to Gigi, but it was average bistro food. I had to send back my kabob appetizer because the lamb was too spicy for me; the menu didn't say anything about heat or spices. However, they were happy to send it back and order me something different. I had one of their flatbreads and liked it fine.... More

Once the restaurant of our dreams, Trattoria Gigi has fallen into a culinary coma. Our recent meal on October 9th, 2014, sans the rosso vino and Tuscan fries, was a total failure. The steak was fatty and flavorless and my spouse's scallops with pesto pasta was both stingy and off putting. Where were the scallops? Just 2 tiny sea creatures... More

Drove over from Massachusetts stopped here for a lunch outdoor under the umbrella. We had a very nice cheese plate, with bread and fruit, some delicious meatballs, and penne pasta dish, along with a couple of glasses of a Spanish wine that was very tasteful. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. All in all a nice late Sunday lunch. Would... More

I must start off by saying that the food is almost always very good. I do not eat much at one time so when I tell you it was not enough for me anyone else would be very upset! I ordered a salad which is not inexpensive I might add. There was so little lettuce in it I was stunned!... More

Average. Wouldn't go back. There are a number of better restaurants and pizza shops in town. The flatbread was crispy and the idea of mussels was good in theory but unexciting in execution. The pasta was good but not great.

We were dropped off in Rhinebeck for dinner on our own. Our guide said Gigi's was Mediterranean food and was Bill Clinton's favorite. The weather was beautiful so we ate outside. The service was good and the food hit the spot. My wife had the Adana Kebors - Lamb kebob, Italian bullhorn peppers, onions, roasted tomatoes and tzatziki. I had... More

We went here for Labor Day weekend lunch and were extremely disappointed. To start we ordered bloody Mary's that we're on the brunch menu and they were $11 for a small, watered down, harsh imitation of one. The salumi was good and priced well for the amount we paid. The cheese was overpriced and just OK. We also ordered a... More

Althouhg the location is popular in RHinebeck, the food is some what wanting in imagination and quality. Service is nice, but dining experience is not relaxed.

I really want to rate Gigi's higher, so I wrote a lot to explain. I've eaten supper here 6 to 8 times each year for the past 3 or 4 years. There is a lot to like, and a few things that I think must be improved. Summary: great recipes and savory food, service is often disappointing, and the kitchen... More
