We met our son for lunch at noon on a Sunday. It wasn't busy at all. We were seated immediately and service was prompt. We started with an order of the fried calamari. It was good but I had a greasy taste in my mouth afterwards. I opted for the veggie burger on a ciabatta roll. The roll was toasted... More

Met a friend for lunch. Rhinebeck is in the middle and a good place to meet. Sat outside on a beautiful afternoon. I've had dinner there a few times previously and it was always a tasty meal. Dinner service was always attentive whether it was four of us or a couple of times when we had ten and twelve. Lunch... More

I loved my juicy burger with sauté onions, sliced tomatoe, and melting goat cheese. The fries were delicious. I highly recommend it for a great lunch. Enjoy!!!

Friend and I arrived at 5:30 p.m. on a slow Sunday evening. The dining room was about 1/4 full. The busboy filled our water glasses promptly; but another 10 minutes passed before our waiter showed up the first time. He took our order for cocktails, and returned with them about 15 minutes later with a basket of delicious breads. I... More

The place was great. Our service was attentive but not overly. Our waiter David was professional and yet relaxed and fun. He made great suggestions on local wine and dinner. I had the pork chop, and it is the best chop I have ever had. It was just overall a great experience.

Don't know how to characterize this restaurant. My girlfriend and I were vacationing in the Hudson Valley and stopped in Rhinebeck. We started looking for a place to eat and saw the Terrapin sign on what appeared to be an old church building. Since we were sort of between lunch and dinner we weren't sure what they would be serving... More

We stopped here for lunch while staying in the area for a few weeks. I had read good things about the place. They seated us pretty quickly. A handsome young waiter came to take our drink order. He returned shortly with our drinks and took our food order. That was when things went downhill quickly. Although he didn't seem terribly... More

Firstly, the wait staff is a very attentive team. I received and observed great service all around. The duck quesidilla tasted fresh and yummy. The "double" pork chop was ginormous...and sooo tasty I had to eat every bite. The new york state wine flight is a great tourist idea, and I'm being a tourist, so I love it, well, at... More

We chose this place for lunch before we visited the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. It's housed in an old church, which has been attractively modernized, but retains its architectural interest. We sat in the bistro, since the outdoor tables were filled. The noise level was high in here, so if you want to talk, you may want to go elsewhere. The... More

This was my third visit to Terrapin. The first time was two years ago for dinner. The dining room is beautiful. The second time was for lunch. The café room is not so beautiful. The dining room does not open until 5:00. This time was for lunch and we sat on the outside. The wait staff is young and pleasant.... More
