For special occasions, we dine at the Terrapin. It not only never disappoints but even exceeds expectations. There are two Terrapins in this converted former church, the restaurant and the bistro. We have only dined at the restaurant. In every aspect it is a fine dining experience, the food is some of the very best we have had anywhere and... More

I drove by this place all the time and had never eaten here. Finally went for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. 6 of us ordered different things and everything was amazing. Winner of the night was Gnocchi with butter and truffles!

Both my wife and I had eaten good size lunches so we sat at the bar and had cocktails and lite plates. We were very pleased with the experience. The cocktails were creative and well mixed. The food was very nice. We had familiar plates (ex. Quesadilla) and they were both creative and very well done. The bar staff was... More

Terrapin is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire Hudson Valley area. The restaurant itself is just gorgeous whether you are dining inside out outside. Their specialty drinks are very unique and their tapas menu is just flawless. You definitely need to dine here at least once in your lifetime!

Went to visit nearby Bard College and afterwards treated ourselves to a fine well rounded meal made of locally sourced ingredients at Terrapin. Service was bit slow because food was fresh and made to order. Prices for generous chicken dishes were around 15 dollars. Half bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was $20. Terrapin was fairly full for a rainy... More

When you enter Terrapin for dinner, you can choose the Grill on the left or the Restaurant on the right. We have eaten at both places several times and no longer go to the Restaurant. High prices, small portions, and okay service make this a somewhat undesirable experience. The food is good but the negatives outweigh the rest. Every time... More

We started going to the Terrapin many years ago. The restaurant has great ambiance and the food and service are always excellent. The prices have gone up over the years and it is a bit pricey. They do have a less expensive "bistro" which is not as fancy but the food is excellent. Our last visit was during "Restaurant Week" and... More

On the main road in downtown Rhinebeck, excellent food with interesting options, good wine. Would love to eat there again if came back. Lots of neat shops and people watching in the street this is located on (plus other restaurants).
