We wanted to like this popular place. The location, in a restored church, is lovely, and the staff were attentive. The crispy bread was first-rate. But the rest of the food, alas, did not live up to the surroundings. Our appetizers---artichokes, wontons---were heavily breaded and fried into undistinguished lumps, the salad was drowned in acidic dressing, the ahi tuna was... More

We ate in the bar which was busy. The atmosphere was good and the atmosphere in the restaurant appeared that it would be even better. The menu was varied and all diners had a good meal. Service was a little slow because the bar was so busy.

I've been to Terrapin an uncountable number of times, and though the service may be slow at times (because it's almost always packed!), I've never had any kind of issue with the food, ever. If I lived closer I'd be there every freaking night. The bistro side is where we most often find ourselves, however there have been many occasions... More

You have several choices at this large restaurant. There is a bistro menu outside and at the bar/informal bistro, and the dining room menu in the more formal dining room. There are similarities and overlaps, and each menu is bountiful. We sat at the bar while waiting for a table outside on their front porch. The sour cherry bourbon Manhattan... More

Ate there 2 times - dinner and lunch. Very slow service both times even though it wasn't packed mid-week. Dinner menu: Roasted fig appetizer was very tasty but more grapes than figs. Ahi tuna appetizer and ahi with miso main course were really excellent. Lobster gnocchi was stingy with the lobster - using claw tips and small pieces. Lunch menu:... More

The bar is very noisy but a good place to select beers and cocktails. They had a sour cherry and bourbon cocktail which we loved. We chose to dine outside on a chance of rain. Our server was terrific and took our orders very expidiously. My husband ordered calamari as his appetizer. It was very lightly battered and fried with... More

Loved that everything was fresh from farm to table. The restaurant was a church turned restaurant. It was a great choice.
