It is difficult not to gush with superlatives about this little jewel of a restaurant. Just the type of dining experience you seek out on vacation (or otherwise). Attentive and knowledgeable staff, dishes that showcase the chef's deft hand from seafood to homemade pasta, feels like a Paris bistro with a caring touch. The terrain with roasted garlic and goat... I have eaten at many restaurants all over the country and this is one of my absolute favorite places to dine hands down. If you desire a warm cozy and quaint atmosphere where the food is to die for then this is the place for you. The owners are so friendly you feel like you are at home eveytime. The... More

Tiny place with seven tables or so. No shortage of fresh ingredients and fine flavors. The pulled pork sandwich is amazing. Fast, courteous service and fair prices. Parking in Rhinebeck is usually a fiasco, so park your car the first chance you get and enjoy the walk to Calico's.

My husband & I have been going to Rhinebeck for over 15 years for weekend getaways & have walked past Calico many times but we finally had dinner there recently. It's a small charming space with wonderful food, warm cozy ambiance and friendly, helpful staff. There are some very tasty & different menu choices. I had the gnocchi "sulmona" style... More

This was a sweet place. Small and intimate. We had a very nice lunch. Delicious quiche and salad, very good smoked salmon. There was a fabulously looking dessert display but we passed. Looked good enough to maybe try some next time. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. We had a delightful day in the charming town of Rhinebeck.

My friend and I had a wonderful dinner at Calico. This small restaurant is lovingly preside over by its chef/owner and every detail was just right. We started with the crabcake appetizer, which was not extraordinary, but the accompanying Plum Tomato Salad and homemade Tarter Sauce were perfect. For entrees we had Brook Trout and a special of Filet of... More

This restaurant & Patisserie is not to be missed! Upon arrival at our Bed & Breakfast in Hyde Park, N.Y. a couple from California told us not to miss dinning at Calico's in Rhinebeck, N.Y. We took their advice and booked reservations for that evening. Our meals were incredible, so much so that we dined there again before leaving the... More

With time to kill we checked out all of Rhinebeck's restaurants on a Thursday afternoon. Decided to take a chance on Calico, largely because it was small, likely to be quiet, and a fellow walking by saw us checking the menu who said, "They're really good cooks." He was right! The "award winning" garlic soup deserved whatever award it won,... More
