My wife and I decided to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in the Hudson Valley with our children. We knew the area a bit, but had no idea about restaurants. The Through the Looking-Glass charm of the Calico Cat (that smile!), the gambler's zest of staking so special a dinner on a 7-table restaurant, and, I must say, the out-of-sight... More

We had a lovely anniversary dinner at Calico. Service is attentive, but not invasive, with much attention to detail. The menu is diverse and interesting. Sauces are light and aromatic, and truly enhance rather than overpower. I had a stuffed filet of sole in a lobster broth which was the highlight of any seafood fish I have ever had -... More

We did not know what to expect from the 7 table restaurant when we first walked in. The atmosphere is welcoming and romantic. But when the food arrived we were very surprised! Each dish was excellent and the dessert is a must! Can't wait to come back for another culinary delight!

There are only a few tables at Calico, so you will quickly get to know your fellow diners, but don't let that stop you from eating some of the best prepared food on the east coast! The bouillabaisse was perfect as well as the monkfish. Owner/operators are friendly and welcoming, and wait-staff was very attentive. We don't often eat desserts,... More

Warm and welcoming; charming and cozy; wonderful food; professional and courteous service; very reasonable. Of three restaurants at which we had dinner in Rhinebeck, we both agreed this was the clear gold-medal winner.

We have been coming to Rhinebeck for years, but had never dined at Calico. Big mistake! On this trip we had dinner there, and couldn't have been more pleased. The room is small, but very cozy, and the wait staff very accommodating. The restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife team. They are both chefs, one for... More

We had the table for six at the front. It is a very small restaurant and seems popular with locals. Well priced french menu. Deserts are fantastic, a lot of people stopping in just for that. Service was very good and they have a decent wine list. The chef came out to visit and we were impressed. Not many tables... More

We had an awesome dinner at this little French restaurant tucked away in a corner of downtown Rhinebeck. The food was exquisitely prepared, service impeccable and the deserts to die for. The highlight of the meal was the bouillabaisse I had. -- the best I have eaten outside of France. This is quite a local gem.

We have been going to Calico for years. We always have delicious food and great service there in a lovely setting. The food is imaginative, beautifully prepared, and made with fresh Hudson Valley ingredients. I recently had the sautéed shrimps and sea scallops in a pesto sauce over angel hair pasta. My husband had his favorite, the roast Long Island... More

Just passing thru town and read the reviews on this tiny spot. So glad we did! Food was delicious, desserts are incredible. Husband/wife are chef/pastry chef and it really IS a marriage made in heaved :-) and reasonably priced too. Servers very knowledgeable and food paced perfectly. Highly recommend
