A 70 seat American-Fusion Restaurant, the only one in the area using truly local ingredients and changes thier menu every two weeks based on the availability of products. Both the beer menu and wine list are extensive and reasonable. As well one of the only restaurants that say if we don't have we will do our best to get it for your reservation.

Worth looking for

Overall an excellent experience. Food quality and presentation was extremely good and portions satisfied my 220 lb frame. The open table reservation system was a definite plus. My wife and I both liked the ambiance with open kitchen and contact with chef. Two downers. The setting is in an older... read more

The food was good but over prices for what you got. I did appreciate the fact when they knew I did not eat gluten the server brought me a gf roll.

Very attractive resturant with just ordinary food. Was not impressed by the Prawn Pasta dish I had. Did not arrive piping hot. Good wine list, nice beer selection, and good cocktails.

The quality of the food here was excellent, and the atmosphere quite nice. My one complaint is that they did not bring out the food all at one time and that creates a very awkward situation and shows a lack of training.

My boyfriend and I are every chef's nightmare; one lactose intolerant and allergic to shellfish, the other casein intolerant and allergic to wheat. We were in town for the career fair at the Culinary Institute and wanted a meal without either of us getting sick afterwards. The Artist's Palate was our first choice. Charlie and Megan have exceptional attention to... More

My family enjoyed a good dinner at the Artist's Palate during a recent visit to Poughkeepsie while looking at colleges. It's a very pretty space with a streamlined design. The chef herself came to our table to explain a dish and was very professional. Our server was genial but could have used more polish, probably due to inexperience. One thing... More

The Artist's Palate has lovely, gourmet food. I think it is he best downtown Poughkeepsie restaurant. It is quiet and the menu is excellent. The atmosphere is suitable for a quiet dining experience with friends or even a business dinner. The food is generally French/continental. The restaurant has an extensive and good wine list. The service is also very good... More
