A 70 seat American-Fusion Restaurant, the only one in the area using truly local ingredients and changes thier menu every two weeks based on the availability of products. Both the beer menu and wine list are extensive and reasonable. As well one of the only restaurants that say if we don't have we will do our best to get it for your reservation.

Very good but flawed

The quality of the food here was excellent, and the atmosphere quite nice. My one complaint is that they did not bring out the food all at one time and that creates a very awkward situation and shows a lack of training.

My boyfriend and I are every chef's nightmare; one lactose intolerant and allergic to shellfish, the other casein intolerant and allergic to wheat. We were in town for the career fair at the Culinary Institute and wanted a meal without either of us getting sick afterwards. The Artist's Palate was our first choice. Charlie and Megan have exceptional attention to... More

My family enjoyed a good dinner at the Artist's Palate during a recent visit to Poughkeepsie while looking at colleges. It's a very pretty space with a streamlined design. The chef herself came to our table to explain a dish and was very professional. Our server was genial but could have used more polish, probably due to inexperience. One thing... More

The Artist's Palate has lovely, gourmet food. I think it is he best downtown Poughkeepsie restaurant. It is quiet and the menu is excellent. The atmosphere is suitable for a quiet dining experience with friends or even a business dinner. The food is generally French/continental. The restaurant has an extensive and good wine list. The service is also very good... More

We have been to the Artist's Palate a number of times. The food is consistently excellent. This most recent visit was during Restaurant Week. Unlike many other restaurants that participate, they offered a very nice variety of choices. The food was wonderfully prepared and the portions were not sized down. Our party chose a number of different dishes and all... More

My husband and I had a great experience here during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week! Delicious food, impeccable service, fresh decor. The pierogies were great, the elk sirloin was super tender, and the Marquis Tower (chocolate mousse) was decadent and perfect. Since we have a limited budget for dining out, we usually only visit restaurants that post their HVRW menus online.... More
