Description: Bull and Buddha is located in a newly restored building in the heart of Poughkeepsie's revitalized Main Street. Offering a chic yet casual setting, Bull and Buddha blends an understated urban interior with exotic Asian design elements, including a hand-carved two ton Buddha that greets entering guests from behind the bar. Bull and Buddha offers Modern Pacific Cuisine, with influences spanning from Peru to Japan, and an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. The diverse menu offers 26 dishes, each carefully selected and designed for sharing, while our beverage program focuses on the basics done well: bold cocktails, balanced sake and fine tequila. We are excited for you to experience our vision.

I had previously given a high rating for this place stating that we may plan a wedding here. Well, my daughter and her fiance were in the middle of the planning with the chef and owner when we went down there and found out it was closed down. She was ready to finalize details and make a deposit and we... More

I have ordered from Bull and Buddha a few times they did nice California rolls but they always tried to keep my change-so presumptuous! I stopped using cash and only used a card. Why should I have to always ask for my change? Dined there with my husband once - we live across the street. It wasn't good enough to... More

We checked out this place for a possible wedding venue so we sampled a lot of different things on the menu. The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. We tried appetizers, salads, main courses, desserts and drinks. My favorite meal was the salmon which I usually don't care for since my hubby cooks it really nicely at... More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary last night at the Bull and Buddha. The food was great. The staff very attentive. We were served by Amy who was intelligent, had great recommendations and some of the best timing I have ever seen. She was attentive but not overbearing. My wife is gluten free and they were very accommodating. The... More

Went to Bul and Buddha for dinner and had a very nice experience. Service is great and food is very eclectic. They have their own version of everything they put in the menu and it taste good. I personally did not like the bitterness and aftertaste of my dish but the rest of the dishes were good and the desserts... More

After visiting Bull and Buddha again last night, I feel I must amend my prior review, done quite some time ago. A little while back, I had read that they were closing to re-vamp their menu. They re-opened at first on a limited basis, then full opened. Last night, my girlfriend and I visited for the first time since their... More

Recently brought my daughter there to celebrate her college acceptance. I have been to this restaurant several times when it was run by the previous owners, so I didn't know what to expect. The food was delicious from appetizer to dessert. The service was excellent. The manager even showed us the upstairs which I asked to see, because I might... More

When I heard about this restaurant coming soon, I was really looking forward to it. As advertised, the decor was impressive. I especially liked the light around the Sushi bar. My friend & I were in a great mood when we started but that was soon crushed. We brought out our new electric cigarettes & proceeded to puff occasionally when... More

If you have read any other review I've posted, you know I don't post unless I mean it. This is one of the most creative, savorable restaurants in the States. Puerto Rico/Laotian/Mexican, etc. global cuisine. Some say the flavors are assertive; I'm so tired of tasteless, boring American cuisine that we came back a second night to believe it was... More
