We visited Port Jeff for a change of scenery last week and requested on Facebook suggestions of where to have lunch.....many people suggested Toast. We waited about 45 minutes for a midday table (which indicates its popularity--granted it was 11:30 on Vet's Day), They called my cell when the table was ready which was great as we could mill around... Keep in mind: Get there at eight or prepare to wait. Very popular breakfast spot in Port Jeff village. Terry turned this old bagel store into an eclectic eatery, complete with art from local artists on the wall, tin ceilings, and hip staff. They expanded by two since the opening, thus enabling twice the amount of satisfied patrons. Specialty omelets... More

I go to toast often with friends and family. It's excellent most of the time, but be prepared for a wait. Get there 30-60 minutes before you want to eat. When you do sit- make sure to order the graham cracker coffee! Delish. I will also specifically go there for the multi grain toast with my breakfast.

We went here for Sunday breakfast with family who lives nearby and it was the highlight of the weekend. At 9:15 there was a 30 minute wait but it was so worth it. Apple strudel French toast, breakfast burritos, chocolate chip pancakes and a pumpkin coffee milkshake were just some of what we all ordered and shared! The Eggs Benedict... More

if you don't mind waiting 20--30 minutes for breakfast and being a little cramped, then a great selection of breakfast awaits you as well as piping hot coffee. Once you are in, and sitting, it is an experience to have a different and creative menu for the first meal of the day. A gem in the historic village of Port... More

We were passing through town (stayed overnight) and found Toast on Trip Advisor, and decided to try it for breakfast on a Tuesday. Got there about 930, it was busy but there were seats at the counter, so we sat there. We were waited on promptly, they serve coffee in LARGE mugs, very good, less need for refills. I had... More

The wait is always 45 minutes or more on the weekends but that's ok! The food and service is spot on!

We have come to Port Jefferson twice and have eaten here both times and have not been dissappointed! The service is fast and friendly, the food is fresh and the bread alone is delicious! We all ordered different dishes and I loved all of them! The omelets had fresh smoked chicken sausage and we happened to be there on International... More

I would go more often but I don't like to wait 30-40 minutes to pay for a meal.Lol..this place has a tremendous following and the food and alternative choices makes it a great place to eat.

I went to Toast for lunch today (third time visited) and was truly disappointed with the food. I ordered the lemon chicken salad and the chicken was so dried out, I almost choked on it. My mom had the hamburger, but the bun was crumbling apart. Perhaps it was because it was getting old. I doubt I'll be going back.... More
