There are 4 tables on an outdoor deck where you can sit & look at the ferries coming in & out of Port Jefferson. My Husband, myself & my son sat at one of these tables. While the sun was shining & it was a beautiful day & view, the food was just ok. My Husband did enjoy his linguini... More

This place has indoor and outdoor seating. It is counter service only, however they do clean up for you when you are done. Nice to sit outside and see the ferries coming and gooing. The food is very good--the coconut shrimp and fish and chips are awesome! (but I do agree with a previous post about the lobster roll-if you... More

Good place to people watch, but stay away from the cold lobster roll. HORRIBLE! Fried fish and chips good. French fries good.

What you see is what you get. Range of hearty seafood and fish dishes, from fish and chips to more elaborate paellas and so on. Open seating well attended by clean-up staff. They keep empty dishes cleared, but they don't push you out. Beer pitchers available. Great views of the ferries. Great for summer-time. No idea what it would look... More

This place seemed to be exactly what we were looking for: a simple informal seafood restaurant that serves fresh seafood near the water. Aesthetically, the Steamroom is great, it has a good vibe and the restaurant is right off the water and it's at the end of a great shopping section of Port Jefferson. You get to watch the ferries... The Steamroom is a great spot to pop in for a meal, couples, families, friends, whatever the group is, whatever the occasion it's a good time. My first trip to the Steamroom came 3 years ago after sailing into Port Jeff and needing a place close to grab a quick bite. The location is perfect, being right on the water... More

this place is your typical beach side casual seafood restaurant. There is a counter, a giant menu board, lots of seafood options, a whole lot of fried stuff, lemonade, soda beer and wine available. Having visited tens of places like this in the many beach towns I have been to, I thought this was an OK place. Most of the... More

The Steamroom feels like a New England Clam Shack. You order at the counter. There is a wide variety on the menu from scallops to lobster to pizza. I had a decent lobster roll - nothing like a Maine lobster roll, but not bad. Price was 13.95$. The coleslaw was good, fries rather greasy and soggy. The nice view of... More

The food here is fresh and good, but it's basically a seaside seafood shack like those you find everywhere in New England. Some are great values, others are stupidly expensive. This one is stupidly expensive and pretty "plastic". Think about a Wendy's kind of decor and experience, with better food and alcohol and about a $50 tab for two if... More
