Inspired by the beach culture of coastal California, Mexico, Uruguay and Brazil, bartaco combines healthy, upscale street food with a coastal vibe in a relaxed environment. The minimalistic decor is light and breezy, with the air of a rustic beach resort. The cuisine is rooted in Mexican tradition but pulls from a broad palate of bold, spicy flavors from the Mediterranean, Asia and beyond. The tacos are healthier versions of old-country favorites, filled with fish, fresh vegetables, spit-roasted chicken, and slow-cooked pork to name a few. There are Asian-influenced salads, grilled corn, signature fusion rice bowls, and seasonal market specials on the creative menu. The bartaco beverage menu is just as carefully crafted, and includes bottled Mexican Coca-Cola and hand-pressed fruit sodas. Over 40 tequilas - all 100% agave - have been hand-picked. Our award-winning inspired and refreshing cocktail selections are made with only artisanal spirits and freshly-squeezed juices and are featured along with traditional margaritas, mojitos and caipirinhas. Whether dining with family or enjoying a night out with friends, all will savor the undeniable energy that is the bartaco experience.

Great but quite a wait

We had dinner here on Saturday night, and although we waited for a long time -- and they lost our name on the queue -- the food was worth it. It's very casual, crowded and loud. Go early if you don't want a scene. The margaritas were excellent -- the bartender squeezed the lime right before our... read more

Our daughter brought us here last Sunday evening and she was amazed that we actually were seated with no wait as she said it's always been crowded in her previous visits...The reason she wanted to bring us here is that she's always enjoyed it. We were glad she did. Not only was the outdoor patio comfortably casual, the waiter we... More

We stopped here for an outside seating lunch on a beautiful Spring sunny day. The outside deck overlooks the river and the service is pleasant and good. They serve small tapa size tacos with various fillings. I had the fish taco which was excellent, but be sure to order at least 2 or combine them with another choice, such as... More

We had dinner at BarTaco in April and really enjoyed the experience. We ordered Margaritas to begin with and they were delicious. We then had a mix of tacos (duck, curry shrimp, ribeye and fried mussels) that were really special. Very different and refresfing. The staff was welcoming and attentive and we will definitly go back!

Taco sampler is fun for a small crowd. I go here often before a show at The Cap, as do many others. Great vibe, though the short tables can be a little uncomfortable (sit on a bench and not a seat).

I really wanted to give this restaurant a good rating but received very poor service and the tacos are $2.50 for two bites. The meat inside the tacos are very fresh and enjoyable but as stated, are little expensive. Our server was hard to find and it wasn't even very busy (Sunday evening). I may go back to this restaurant... More

The bartender was wonderful. She was very attentitive and seemed like she enjoyed providing great service. The margarita was one of the best I've ever had. I got 3 tacos, they were pretty good- kind of small but I guess that is the concept of it. A little on the pricier side but worth it for the unique atmosphere and... More

AshWednesday - feeling the depths of winter. Some friends of ours invited them to accompany them to this no reservation restaurant. What a great idea. We were seated immediately and ordered an outlet of trays of tacos: sesame beef, spicy chorizo, chicken, baja fish, pork belly, duck. Each taco is about three bites and utterly delicious. Deserts include churro and... More

The food is very good and slightly unusual. Better to go to in warm weather to eat outdoors. Waiters are very friendly and accommodating.

Tucked away down by the waterfront, this establishment is both lively and laid back. Good food and friendly service are this restaurants key ingredients. Super kid friendly and when the weather is fair, the garage style wall/doors open wide lending a backyard gathering feel.
