Phone: 845-688-3050 This cafe/market opened at the end of May 2010, and we discovered it when we visited Phoenicia for a weekend in October 2010. It features homemade and local-sourced food in a very casual atmosphere (no table service - you order and pay for your food, then have a seat). We stopped by three times because we enjoyed the food so much and we thought the owner (Michael) was great. He is supporting the community in tangible ways (sponsoring scarecrow-making and a Halloween parade) while serving delicious food. They are even serving s'mores by a campfire in front of the store on Friday and Saturday evenings! Makes me want to live in Phoenicia..... Mama's Boy serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; you can stop in for a cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate, dessert, or a whole meal. Michael will make you feel welcome no matter what.

Latte stop

Just stopped by for a latte while on a bicycle ride. I didn't try any of the food so can't comment in this regard.

During our camping in the Woodlands area me and Mykl went to discover the little town of Phoenicia and we decided to stop here for a Coffe and a dessert, I got a macchiato and a blueberry muffin, the barista was easy to talk to and she also give me some information about an historical building located in front of... Stopped in for two ice creams and served by the enthusiastic owner. Outdoors eating area quite grubby but the ice creams were lovely

I really wanted to like the food here, but it just wasn't good. I had been here before with my husband and sister for coffee, but I wouldn't have their food again unless it's a bagel (I saw someone else with a bagel with stuff on it and it looked pretty good). They probably shouldn't put their food on display,... More

What a nice addition to Tannersville. After Smiley's ice cream closed last year, we were pretty upset that the best custard ice cream shop in the area had shut down. With the opening of Mamma's Boy

We stopped at Mama's Boy twice during a recent stay in the area. They have a nice outdoor area and are pet friendly, which was the main draw for us, since we had a dog with us. Great coffee and quick, friendly service. They have delicious baked goods too. I had eggs both times, and must say that although I... More

Excellent Iced Coffee and Smoothie. Friendly staff and great choice of cakes and cookies for a quick refresh after riding all day through the Catskills.

This spot is great and I'd come back here again in a heartbeat, but each time I went there the baristas were pretty young and seemed frazzled. One didn't even know they supposedly sold soup, or what kind it was, or even where it was, so I got a mescalin salad that was literally just lettuce. They do, however, sell... More

We came across Mamma's Boy by chance and were charmed by it from the first moment on. They offer a nice range of attractive coffee-shop items, and the woman working that day was friendly and efficient (she said she had been working there for 3 years). The mushroom soup was so good (and pleasingly unusual) that we actually ordered seconds!... More

Went for a ride through Woodstock and Pheonecia with my family and we decided to stop and possibly get a cup of coffee or something small from Mama's Boy Market. Upon pulling up to the building we realized the building was a little run down and through the windows we could see the inside was very cluttered. After walking inside... More

Michael K, Owner at Mama's Boy, responded to this review

Normally I try not to respond to negative reviews because responses just come off as argumentative, but I obviously need to respond here as your accusations are very serious. First of all, the tamales are not moldy, discoloration in corn husks occur naturally. We buy the tamales from a local Mexican restaurant in small batches and would never, ever sell... More
