Mexican - or almost

Not bad for a town with not very many good restaurants. The pork was good! The pozole soup was good. I love Mexican, but I'm not much for burritos and chimichangas that dominate the menu. I guess the local community doesn't like it hot. The 2nd night I took my own lime and a bottle of Tobasco... read more

Second time we've stopped in to La Cocina. Its just dang good food and drink. Green chili sauce has some kick, chips nice & fresh and salty. Stop on in, you'll like it!

This little restaurant is fairly well hidden, but it's worth the hunt to find.... my wife and I will go there for Taco Tuesdays/Thursdays (depending on the season) and get an entire meal including great chips and salsa for under $7 each!!! Can't beat that ... plus the food is really good, check it out!

Pleasant and enjoyable dinner experience right in the heart of Penn Yan. Not fancy, but good value for "Mexican" food as we know it. Efficient if slightly less than animated staff.

Sure, this is not an absolutley authentic Tex-Mex that you would find in the Southwest. That said, they have a varied menu, some interesting specialities, a selection of local Finger Lakes wines. All in all , a good place to get delicious Mexican-style food in the heart of the Finger Lakes. NOTE: Their winter hours are considerably restricted. They're only... More

this is a little hidden gem of a place tucked away in an alley. Good variety and good food with very reasonable prices. Tuesday night tacos are the best deal around

Not much I could see was like I have had from a Mexican restaurant. Sorry but would be a last choice for me.

What a pleasant surprise! We expected a "decent" meal but ended up with an AMAZING dinner! Everything we ate (and drank!) was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

have been there 5 times in 3 years. The food was always good and was better than the 3 Mexican places I've been to within 30 miles.

Penn Yan ain't exactly foodie heaven, so a decent Mexican restaurant with a Friday special of tilapia tacos seemed like a pretty good bet. Solid little joint with nice service, good chips and salsa, and dirt-cheap prices. Can't go wrong.
