Don't expect high quality food at this establishment; my experience has been so-so, with just nothing particularly well prepared. It is ok if you don't need anything special but a burger and a beer, but they don't seem to have folks working who would be proud to be making great fish, meat, salads, or anything of quality. The atmosphere is... More

Friday night waiting for my son to finish snowboarding at Thunder Ridge, we were looking for a close place to get dinner. We have been to McGraths before and knew that it has a very good selection of beers on draft. My husband went for a burger with gorgonzola, it came just as he wanted, with a lot of crispy... More

After a short hike in the Pawling area, we stopped at McGrath's Tavern for lunch. The fact that it has Revolutionary War era settler cemetery in the front of the building was reason enough for me to check it out. The interior is your typical roadhouse tavern with a cozy bar and lots of Irish art and writings on the... More

I'd been to McGrath's several times and enjoyed some nice food and drink. My boys also like it. Recently, my in laws were here for a visit from the UK, and on their last day we headed out to lunch. The spot we were heading too was closed, so I recommended McGrath's based upon my previous visits. Upon entering the... More

I thought I would give McGrath's Tavern a try. I have to admit the hamburger was quite good with delicious curly fres. However, I rarel;y order a beer, usually, it's diet something for me, but I thought I deserved a treat in my new try-out restaurant so I ordered a "lite" beer. I was disappointed at no-head on the beer.... More

I wasn't expecting much after reading the reviews on here. I had the Philly cheese steak and my girlfriend had the crab cake sandwich. The steak in my sandwich was a bit burnt for my tastes and her crab cake sandwich was made with imitation crab meat. Not worth $12.00. The bar area was busy for an early Wednesday evening... More

This is a second visit to McGrath's which competes with McKinney and Doyle's for your dining dollar in Pawling, NY! Down town Pawling isn't home to many restaurants; in fact, you can choose between McGraths and the more upscale McKinney/Doyle across from the Metro North station. There are some places outside the village on Route 22 but I haven't tried... More

The food is not worth mentioning, but if you are looking for a bar this might suffice. I would keep driving if I were looking for good food.

We eat as a family here from time to time. The food is ok to good on a whole but won't change your life. We stop here when we are good and hungry and daddy or mommy want a beer w dinner. Beer selection is decent and I expect the bar business is probably more important to the bottom line... More
