Excellent - in every way!!

Our usual Friday night date with friends - one week we pick the restaurant and drive, the net week them! This week I picked, and boy - what an excellent meal the four of us had. First, you need to know that Palenville, NY is a very small town. This restaurant is on a side road that is only... read more

Without my local host's recommendation, I would not have found such a comfortable local gem. The food was excellent. The fillet was cooked perfectly and a month later my partner is still raving about the pumpkin soup as the highlight of our year long romance! Great service, well chosen menu options, fresh local ingredients, presentation, but most of all a... More

This off-the-beaten-path place is worth seeking out. We come from a town full of great restaurants, and this would survive the competition. Friendly people, great food, even really good home-made pie! And an eclectic atmosphere to-boot!

My partner and I came here on recommendations from Google. It is off the beaten path but well worth the trip as the food was excellent. We ordered the ceasar salad for two tossed table side. It was a great presentation, although a little too much garlic. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my partner ordered chicken marsala. This was... More

We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and friendly service. It is a bit like eating in your elderly aunts house surrounded by nick nacks but that is part of the charm. We loved the onion strings to start and the food improved with lamb, chicken Marsala and chicken Rebecca all of which were tender and delicious. We managed to squeeze... More

We ate here recently for their shore night. Clam chowder, lobster, clams, mussels and a lot more. The restaurant makes you feel like you have stepped back in time quite a number of decades, but in a good, nostalgic way. We always enjoys eating here.

Last week, we celebrated the end of the school year and 25 yrs of school work. It was surf night, but we did not pre-order. We both had the turf end of the dinner and it was great, though one of us was missing a baked potato, but no worries. Plenty of food. Meal was great! Sat at bar for... More

Easily the best food in the area, especially for the money. The staff couldn't have been more curtious. It's a family run business and while you're there they make sure to go above and beyond to make sure you feel like family as well.

Restaurant is up a road that runs along a pretty stream. Well worth driving up there. The bar is at one end of the building, and the sit down restaurant part at the other. Menu is surprisingly varied, and all the dishes we have tried have been good. Service has been attentive and prices reasonable.

Went here in the summer of 2015 for a dinner with my girlfriend. The ambiance can't be beat and the food was terrific. Emil, the owner, made a point of coming over to our table, introducing himself and talking about the daily specials. I went with his recommendation and got one of the specials--a delicious tortellini dish. My girlfriend had... More
