Was told for years this was a great place. Just got off a plane from Puerto Rico & can't look at rice and beans anymore. Needed a home style Italian meal. Started with tomatoes and mozzarella. Superb! The baked clams are whole not chopped, just the way I like em. Then a large plate of linguini w white clam sauce.... More

Do not miss out on the linguine with clams or the baked clams. They are amazing. Bring cash...they do not take credit cards!

in queens this is place everyone needs to visit at least once and then twenty times over again. the food is amazing. don't expect an elegant ambiance, but the food alone is what will have you returning for more.

The baked clams are the best I've ever had, the pasta is always al dente, and the chicken Don Peppe is to die for. No matter what you get, you get plenty and it's always delicious! Bring your appetite and cash...no credit cards or reservations.

We made the effort to go from the city out to Queens on a friends recommendation. The restaurant does not take reservation or credit cards and you cannot bring your own wine. That being said I thought the experience was worth it. With so many great Italian restaurants in the city was looking for something different. After waiting around 30... More

Best baked clams I've had. Portions are very large. I have no idea what kind of wine the house red is but order it. It's served chilled and goes great with almost anything on the menu. Both the white and red clam sauce are great. The chicken scarpariello on the bone is the best interpretation of this classic dish that... More

I've been going to Don Pepe's Vesuvios since 1957, when they were on Liberty Ave. in Brooklyn (I was 7)! When I started dating my husband in 1967, I brought him to Liberty Ave. and told him not to expect atmosphere, just good food. It is now 2014, we're living in Pennsylvania and can't think of any place we'd rather... More

I have been in the area for most of my life and just love getting a chance to get to Don Peppe. My favorite is the Veal Don Peppe, it's so good, it'll ruin you for anything similar at any other restaurant. The other choices are just a good. I like this spot so much that I try to talk... More

The New York City metropolitan area includes more than a million Americans of Italian heritage, and hundreds if not thousands of Italian restaurants. This traditional neighborhood Neapolitan trattoria just might be the best. In business since 1942, it is a cash-only establishment. There is no wine list - just house bottled carafe wines, but they also have Italian beers. But... More
