This is THE place for Italian food. To Die For,unbelievable food. Pasta el dente as it should be,the sauce dripping with flavor and the baked clams the best around. No reservations,no cash,no strollers,no tank tops,no hats! No worry it's all good .the Fish served on a platter with lemons is yummy.perfectly prepared. Have never had a bad meal and is... More

I've been going to Don Pepe's Vesuvios since 1957, when they were on Liberty Ave. in Brooklyn (I was 7)! When I started dating my husband in 1967, I brought him to Liberty Ave. and told him not to expect atmosphere, just good food. It is now 2014, we're living in Pennsylvania and can't think of any place we'd rather... More

I have been in the area for most of my life and just love getting a chance to get to Don Peppe. My favorite is the Veal Don Peppe, it's so good, it'll ruin you for anything similar at any other restaurant. The other choices are just a good. I like this spot so much that I try to talk... More

The New York City metropolitan area includes more than a million Americans of Italian heritage, and hundreds if not thousands of Italian restaurants. This traditional neighborhood Neapolitan trattoria just might be the best. In business since 1942, it is a cash-only establishment. There is no wine list - just house bottled carafe wines, but they also have Italian beers. But... More

This is an institution in New York. Other than they only take cash and probably are crowded on the weekends for dinner this is a mecca for northern italian cooking. The portions are all family style which means big. The cooking is like your italian grandmothers except she is not there but the same chef is. You may also see... More

The food is prepared with meticulous care for you . The family style is great for sampling various dishes which are all delicious! I am in love with the taste of veal with tomatoes & onions.. The linguini with red clam sauce is the best. And the zuppa de clams are very fresh. All in all the food and food... More

Four of us had a terrific dinner at this local restaurant just a stones throw from JFK. Portions are huge and easily serve 2 or 3 people. Baked clams, chicken caccioatore, Chinese chicken and some veal dishes are standouts and especially the linguine with white clam sauce. . The light bodied wine is served cold by the liter or half...
