What can you say about a bistro that provides excellent cuisine, fine wines and a fantastic view of Lake Cayuga? Magnificent!

Good food but very slow service. Plan to spend a good part of two hours waiting for anything appetizer etc. So you just sit with nothing in front of you. Maybe four other parties on the patio waiting. Certainly not busy. No bread. Nothing. Maybe a bottle of wine if you order one. Too bad. A really nice outdoor patio.... More

Arrived at the Bistro around 12:15 when we got there it looked pretty busy on the deck but there was no one seated at any of the tables inside? We checked in with the hostess and were told the wait would be around 30 minutes(which was a bummer cause we were really hungry!). We decided to wait and were very... More

Owners don't really go out of their way to make you feel at home . The bistro feels more like an afterthought and a hobby than a serious business even in summer . The wines are not really outstanding. Nice lake view.

The view of the lake is amazing. Nice outdoor deck to relax. Wine tasting felt like we were being rushed through. The wait to get service for food and drinks is too long.

We have been going to this area for four years now and we always make sure we go here. The wine, food and staff are great. You can't beat the views. We didn't have to wait long and they had a different special everyday. The flat bread pizzas were good and great wings! We ordered a bottle of wine and... More

My husband, sister, brother-in-law, and I had lunch at the Thirsty Owl in August while touring Cayuga Lake wineries. They're open from 10:00AM - 5:30PM. They have a nice menu selection and their view of Cayuga Lake is beautiful! My husband had Garlic Rock Shrimp, French Fries, and Margarita Flat Bread. I had the Cheddar Cheese Burger with a side... We enjoyed a two-hour lunch here recently, sipping wine while a light breeze blew up from the lake onto the covered deck overlooking the vineyards. We hadn't intended to dine for two hours since all we ordered was soup for me, and a sandwich for hubby, but the kitchen was backed up and our waiter forgot to return to take... More

The Thirsty Owl was the first winery we hit on our wine trail... and the least favorite. Busy and commercial. Wines were OK. The Bistro food was very good (excellent burgers) and worth the 40 minutes wait (also since there are limited options in the area!)
