My wife and I decided to try something different on our recent visit to Oswego. While in town for the festive weekend in july. When we arrived we were surprised to find the place not very busy, with a nice decor and high celings, one would expect it to be a hot spot, not the case that night. We did... More

It's nice to have a selection of different foods on the menu without being too far out or weird. Lots of new twists on good old standard dishes, but nothing so fancy that they cant's carry it off very nicely. The wait staff is great. They've done a fine job every time I've been there. They are always helpful and... More

I am not easy to please as a self described foodie but Red Sun Fire Roasting Co. hit all the highlights of good dining. The atmosphere is top notch, as good as I have been to in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The special pork chop with duxelles mushrooms on roasted potatoes with truffle oil stay as a warm memory... They care. A while back I suggested serving the red snapper without the skin. Yesterday they served it as I suggested. It was superb. Furthermore, my lovely wife has an allergy to black pepper, and they went out of their way to serve her food withou it. Kudos, Laurie.

The lobster pappardelle was phenomenal. The skillet Mac and cheese was also very good. A personal preference causes me to rate the jambalaya as okay...the vegetables were a little more crunchy than I like. We ate at the bar, the service was excellent as the bar was not busy. Prices were reasonable.

We walked into the Red Sun on a cold and rainy August evening and were instantly warmed by the outstanding atmosphere here. The color scheme and decor are transporting; we were instantly in the perfect mood for a great meal, and we were not disappointed. This is a small converted older space with high ceilings, a convivial bar area and... More

We frequent the Red Sun and have rarely had a bad experience. The menu has an nice mix of appetizers, main courses, and specialty pizzas made in a wood fired oven. Everything is always freshly prepared and artfully presented. And the menu changes about 4 times a year to keep things fresh. They have a nice selection of wines and... More

I haven't had the pleasure of eating at this place but wanted to write a review to call out the fantastic service I received from the owner when I called to have a gift certificate sent to my brother who lives in the area. Lauri was beyond accommodating - taking care of every last detail on the certificate including mailing... More

This was a small but lovely restaurant. Even with a fairly limited menu, everyone found something they liked. Sadly they were out of some of their beers, and also out of some of their menu items. Worth going back to; hopefully they won't be out of some of the their beer or food menu items.

This is my second visit to Oswego in the last 12 months and just had to come here again. The food is just great. Three of us ordered the special but they ran out. Instead they replaced it with an even better meal and for less money. The food is wonderful. This is one of the best places to eat... More
